Purpose of Hearing - Request by John Palmer that he be issued a permit to
back-fill his submerged land (See attached notice for detailed description.).
There being no objections from land owners or the Public, said permit was
granted. Roll Call Vote: Ayes - Councilmen Yates, Hiers, Thomas,
and Johnson.
Nays - None.
Councilman Kohl was absent.
Hearing adjourned.

REGULAR MEETING, FEBRUARY 12, 1968
Meeting was called to order by President Johnson at 7:35 P.M.
Those present: Mayor Zimmer, Councilmen Yates, Hiers, Thomas and Johnson.
Minutes of January meeting were read and approved.
Motion by Councilman Yates and seconded by Councilman Thomas that the January
bills amounting to $1,369.08 be paid. Carried.
Fifteen ~inutes for Public.
Committee reports were given.
Motion by Councilman Thomas that $300.00 of Parks & Recreation funds be released.
Seconded by Councilman Yates. Carried.
Communications were read.
Committee composed of Mayor Zimmer, Councilmen Johnson and Hiers appointed to
rewrite memorandum on Rules & Procedure for Operation of Police Department.
Motion by Councilman Thomas and seconded by Councilman Hiers to open bids for
new typewriter. Carried.
Motion by'Councilman Hiers that bid of $427.68 submitted by George Stuart, Inc.
for 21 inch electric typewriter be accepted, as bid in best interest of City.
Seconded by Councilman Yates. Carried.
Motion by Councilman Thomas that City Clerk be instructed to have map prepared
as required by Census Bureau. Seconded by Councilman Yates. Carried.
Councilman Hiersr appointed Chairman of "City Beautification Committee".
Councilman Yates moved that .Mayor's action in hiring C. E. Bressett as a patrolman
on 16-week probation be confzrmed. Seconded by Councilman Thomas. Carried.
On recommendation of Mayor Zimmer, Councilman Yates moved that officers Gerald
Lynch and Eugene Melton be confirmed as permanent employees and their pay be
increased to ~}OS.0~per month upon completion of 16 weeks service. Seconded
by Councilman Thomas. Carried.
Motion by Councilman Hiers that Mayor Zimmer and any Councilman available be
authorized to attend the League of Municipalities Seminar, February 25, 26, 27.
Expense not to exceed $20.00 per day authorized. Seconded by Councilman Yates.
Carried.
