HomeMy WebLinkAbout1946 - 1948 Excerpts of Council Minutes regarding the American Legion property12/6/46 - Purpose of metg. was to meet with officers of the local Post American Legion in their efforts to obtain a site for building a club house. Requested by Chairman Middleton to determine wht type of bldg. they were planning to build and their plans for same and Mr. Peterson of the Legion dis- cussed their plans for same, playgrounds, suffleboards, etc. Suggestion was made by Peterson that the land be leased to Legion for ninety-nine years. Motion to consult with Attnyl Mitchell with power to act on Fri.,12/13/46. 1/7/47 - Chrmn.Middleton discussed the matter of conveying a certain piece of property to the Charles L. Futch Amer. Legion Post providing for the mimimum improvemebts on the property to be 92,000.00 and the value of the land to be $300.00 and the following resolution was unanimously adopted as follows. (no resolution in book.) 1�21/47 - Resolution was read relative to the property being deeded to the Futch Post #189, American Legion as follows: (nothing follows) (is pg. 593) 2/3/48 -- Motion by Councilman Sembler which was seconded by Smith that the City of Sebastian adopt Resolution and Ordinance covering the transfer of lands from Mrs. Hardee to the City and also land owned by the City to be transferred to Mrs. Hardee to open alley in rear of the City Hall. Said alley to open on No. Central Ave. in the rear of Lops 2-3-4-5-6 Hardee's S/D 8. running east to City line then running north along the east line of lots 7-8-9-10-11-12 Hardees S/D B and intersect elth 2nd St. Carried by roll cats. V 2-13-48 --- Resolution calling for $50.00 for strip of land ten feet wide off the east side of lot 7 in Hardee S/D B for use as alley and to connect with alley from 2nd St was approved and adopted by roll call vote. 3-16-48 - Moved and 2nded the City of Sebastian g ive a Deed for land g iven to the Charles L.
