Those answering roll call were Mayor Roberts.President Middleton, C ounc llmen Sembler, St even s on, Let chworth and Anderson. Minutes of the last meeting of February 1,1949 were read and approved. Three bids sent in by the ~'arrens Tree Sugery Co for cutting down of 1~.1 pine trees in the 0ity,was disapproved of as the price was too high. Motion by Councilman Sembler and seconded by Councilman Letchworth carried above disapproval. Uarried. It was moved by ~ouncilman Stevenson and seconded by Councilman Letchworth to hire another man to work with the City man for one day cutting trees in order to find out what the cost will run for the complete program. Carried. Councilman Stevenson Chairman of Lights reported to the Council that he tried to get the Officials of the Florida Power & Light Co to meeting but found our distric had been put under the Melbourne supervision and would try and get the Melbourne Officials at some later date. MrStevenson also read two letters from Merrill P.Barber stateing the Bank would weigh each case when an application for loan was presented on property on merits of each sase in the future. Councilman Letchworth chairman of the Sanitation Dep't reported on a survey made by the County Health Oep,t and himself,stating that they found sanitary conditions in very bad shape in spots and the County Board fo Health would be back later to complete their survey. Councilman Letchworth offered the City his truck to make a pick up ~ tll cans,bottles and other rubbish on Saturday Feb.19th. and Feb. 26th. The Clerk being instructed to send out post cards to the Citizens to have all bottles and cans and other rubbish in containers and to be placed at the curbe lawn for collection.All rubish not in containers would not be picked up. Olean up days are Feb Contract for the refunding of the City's Bonds was read by 0hairman Middleton and on a motion by Councilman Sembler and seconded by 8ouncilman Letchworth said Contract was approved and accepted.Carried. The Clerk presented the $ouncil with Ordinance No.l15 which had been returned by the Mayor unsigned together with the Veto of said Ordinance. After reading of the Veto by the ~lerk a vote was taken by Roll Call and the results were, Oouncllman Sembler No. C ounc~lman Stet~enson xes. Councilman Letchworth No. Councilman Ander son xes. Councilman Mid dleton No. The Ordinance not getting a four fifths vote was defeated. The results of vote was three votes for Ordinance and two votes against. At t~is time the chair informed the citizens of the Ball game and Fish to take place in Sebastian on the thirtieth day of March l~4?,at Sebastian Field.This day being designated as Sebastian Dodger Day and the two Teams to play are the St Paul team from the American Assoclatian and Montreal from the international League,all Orginatlons in Sebastian to take part in the pro gram o There being no mo~e business meeting waw adjourned.
