Those answering roll call were A~ayor Shaffer,President Protem Nash and Concilmen Sembler,Ellingsen and Taylor. Minutes of the meeting of ffebruary 9th were approved as read. Councilman Sembler reported that the Street and ~lley Committee had rehired j.E.Redfern at $56.00 per week.Motion by Councilman mllingsen which was seconded by uouncllman Taylor approved same. oarried. Seven dollars and fifty cents was approved on motion by councilman Sembler and seconded by Councilman Taylor to be paid for the collection of rubbish by Charli, Mathews.Carried. .... Mayor Shaffer reccomended that the pay of Chief Adams be One Dollarcand Forty cents per hour for forty hours per week and overtime be time and one half or two dollars and ten cents per haut.Carried.Chief Adams to be paid every week. '£he Clerk ~as authorized by motion by councilman Taylor and seconded by Councilman Sembler to have Hesolutlon drawn up to have the part of the Cometary now laying outside of the corporate limits of the City be legislated into the City limits.Said land comprises about 12.9 Acres more or less.~arrled. Minutes of the last meeting were approved as read, Dills amounting to ,334.02 approved by the ~'inance Committee were ordered paid on motion by Councilman Ellingsen and seconded by councilman Nash.0arried. The following lots 1,2,9 & 10 Block 6 Ocean ~reeze Heights S/1). Lots i to 12 lnc and ~lock A Block 7 Ocean Breez, Heights S/D Lots i to 22 ~lock 8 Ocean ~reeze Heights S/D and lots 2 To 14 inc in ~lock 9 Ocean Breeze Heights S/t). carrying a cost of $82.3? in back taxes and said lots were bought from the State of Florida by G.L.Sweatt and upon payment of the back taxes will be placed on ~he tax roll in Mr Sweatt's name for the year 1953. Acceptance of transaction was on motion by Uouncilman Sembler and seconded by Councilman Taylor and carried. Clerk was instructed to ask Mr Watts our County commissioner to have ~ unty repair or give the City enough material to the Fellsmere Hy crossing at Louisiana Ave where the rails have been taken up. It was moved by Councilmam Ellingsen and seconded by Councilman Nash to allow ~r Klrkland to place two Trailors with padio between said Trallors for two years,after said time ~ Kirtland said he would be able to build a home.~arried. The folio wing resolution,~ntroduced by Councilman Sembler,seconded by Councilman Ellingsen was unanimously passed by the Oity of Sebastian at its regular meeting on the 9th. day of March,1953: RESOLVED, that the City of Sebastian does request the Honorable Sherman N.Smith,Jr Representative from indian Hirer county,~'lorida,and the Honorable Evans Crary,State Senator from the twelfth District,to sponsor,introduce and obtain final passage of a special act at the 19B3 Legislature to amend Section 1 of 0hapte~e~6683,Laws of Florida 1933,so that the city limits of the City of Se bastian,~lorlda,shal xtended on the Northwestern edge of said City somas to incorporate within the City of Sebastian lots 26 and 27 of Wauregan Subdivision; and, BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, th~ the City Attorney be lhstructed to furnish to the Legistature and to the Honorable Sherman N.Smith,Jr., and the Honorable Evans Crary the exact legal description to enable ~hem to amend Section i of Chapter 166SS,laws of Florida 1933,and render such other and further assists nco as may be neccessary to accomplish the passage of said act.
