Those present were Mayor Shaffer,a~d Councilmen Sembler,Ellingsen,0ahlstrom and Nash.President Sweatt arri~lnga little late. Minutes of th~ last meeting were approved as road. Councilman Ellingsen Chairmen of Sanitation reported septic tank and drain field of Mr Culver passed inspection. Mayor Shaffer reported on Police ~epartment and Police car.Car averageung about 14 miles on ~he gal of gasoline and not fast enough to aprehend the worst offenders. Mr Bud Sims was on hand with tax receipts and new description of his propert~ wich includes strip of property 65 feet widw and runs from indian River to North Central which was formerly owned ~y Sam Braswell and after careful examination it was moved 'by Councilman Sembler and seconded by ~uncilman Ellingsen that the Clerk shall contact the County Tax Assessor so as to keep in line as much ~s possible for the new assessment for 1952. Carried. COUNCILMAN Sembler introduced an Ordinance entitled "An Ordinance R~GU~ATING THE HOURS OF SALE 0F ALCOHOLIC BEVERAGES WITHIN THE CORPORATE LYMITS 0F THE CITY OF SEBASTIAN? ~LORIDA,&ND PROHIBITING SALE OF ALC~HOLIC BEV~O~GES WITHIN T~.~E SAID CITY DURING CE~TAIN HOURS; PROViDiNG PE~NALTIES FOR THE VIOLATION HEREOF'.' and moved its adoption. Upon motion made by Cout~cilman Sem'~ler and seconded by Councilman Ellingsen and -.unanimously carried,said Ordinance was read the first time in full. Upon motion made by Councilman Sembler secondedby Councilman Elltngsen and unan- imously carried said Ordinance vJas read the seconde time by Title only; there being no amendments offered upon motion made by ~ouncilman Sembler seconded by Councilman Ellingsen s said Ordinance was read the third time by title only and placed upon its final passage. The roll being called upon the final passage of said ~rdinance hhe result was as follows; Ayes: Councilman Sweatt,Se~bler,Ellingsen,~ahlstrom and Nash. Nays: None. Thereupon said Ordinance having received an affirmative vote of three fifths of all mem0ers of the Council was declared duly adopted and upon being presented to the MS or and having received his approval was numbered as ~hapter 133 of the Ordinances o£ said City and rhereupon duly posted at the door of the City Rall of the City of Sebastian in accordance with the provisions of Section 85 of Chapter 16683,.of the laws of Elorida being the ~ha~ter of said City. On motion ~y Caouncilman Sembler which was seconded by Councilman ~llingsen the ~lerk was authorized to file forec~os,ure papers on the W.P.Sloan property for taxes c~ 1949-1950.Carried, Mayor Shaffer reported to the City ~ou~L, cf.1 and gave them ~he different prices quoted by three Oldsmobile dealers ~n$ a new Police car and on motion by Councilman Nash which was seconded by Councilman Ellingsen to authorize the Mayor and Chief to handle and secure the car most suited for police work and the City's needs. Carried. There being no more business meeting was duly adjourned. Clerk Pres. Council SPECIAL MEETING ~eeting called to order by President Sweatt. Present were Mayor Shaffer,President Sweatt and Councilmen S6mbler,Ellingsen, Dahlstrom and Nash. Ivlr &rchie ~mith was granted a building permit on motion by Councilman Ellingsen which was seconded by Councilman Eash and Carried. A new Oldsmobile was purchased from the ~'lorid~ Motors for the Police department on motion 0y Councilman ScraWler and seconded ~b~ Councilman Nash.Price of Oldsmobile 'being ~ 1290.00 allowance for Ford being ~ 15~.00. carried. There being mo more business meeting adjourned. Clerk
