Those present were Mayor Shaffer,and Councilmen Sembler,Ellingsen,Dahlstrom and Nash.President Sweatt arri~inga little late. ~inutes of th~ last meeting were approved as road. Councilman Ellingsen Chairmen of Sanitation reported septic tank and drain field of Er Culver passed inspection. ~layor Shaffer reported on Police Department and Police car.Car averageung about 14 miles on the gal of gasoline and not fast enough to aprehend the worst offenders. 2r Bud Sims was on hand with tax receipts and new description of his propert~ wich includes strip of property 65 feet widw and runs from Indian River to North Central which was formerly owned by Sam Braswell and after careful examination it was moved by Councilman Sembler and seconded by U~.>uncilman Ellingsen that the Clerk shall contact the County Tax Assessor so as to keep in line as much as possible for the new assessment for 1952. Carried. COUNCII~IAN Sembler introduced an Ordinance entitled "An Ordinance R~GU~ATING THE HOURS OF SALE 0F ALCOHOLIC BEVERAGES W~THIN THE CORPORATE LI~ITS OF T~?E CITY OF SEBASTIAN? ~ORIDA,kND PROHIBITING SALE OF ALCOHOLIC BEVERAGES WITHIN Tt.-~E SAID CITY UURING Ck~TAIN HOURS; PROVIDING Pk~WALTIES FOR THE VIOLATION HEREOF:' and moved its adoption. Upon motion nmde by Cou~cilman Sembler and seconded by Councilman Ellingsen and unanimously carried,said Ordinance was read the first time in full. Upon motion made by Councilman Sembler secondedby Councilman Ellingsen and unan- imously carried said Ordinance was read the seconde time by Title only; there being no amendments offered upon motion made by uouncilman Sembler seconded by Councilman Ellingsen s said Ordinance was read the third time by title only and placed upon its final passage. The roll being called upon the final passage of said Brdinance h~e result was as follows; Ayes: Councilman Sweatt ,Se~bler,Elllngsen, Dahlstrom and Nash. Nays: None. Thereupon said Ordinance having received an affirmative vote of three fifths of all mem0ers of the Council was d~clared duly adopted and upon being presented to the MS or and having received his approval was numbered as ~hapter 133 of the Ordinances of said City and rhereupon duly posted at the door of the City Hall of the City of Sebastian in accordance with the provisions of Section 85 of Chapter 16683,of the laws of ]~lorida being the oha~ter of said City. On motion by Caouncilman Sembler which was seconded by Councilman Ellingsen the Olerk was authorized to file forec~os~ure papers on the W.P.Sloan property for taxes ~f 1949-1950 .Carried. Mayor Shaffer reported to the City oou~cil and gave them ~he different prices quoted by three Oldsmobile dealers ~n$ a new Police car and on motion by Councilman Nash which was seconded by Councilman Ellingsen to authorize the Ma~or and Chief to handle and secure the car most suited for police work and the City's needs. Carried. There being no more business meeting was duly adjourned. Cle rk Pres. Council SPECIAL M~TING ~,"ARCH 4,1952 l~eeting called to order by President Sweatt. Present were Mayor Shaffer,President Sweatt and Councilmen Sembler,Ellingsen, Dahlstrom and Nash. M~r ~rchie ~-;mith was granted a building permit on motion by Councilman Ellingsen which was seconded by Councilman Nash and Carried. A new Oldsmobile was purchased from the ~'lorida Motors for the Police department on motion 0y Councilman Sembler and seconded ~ Councilman Nash.Price of Oldsmobile being $ 1290.00 allowance for Ford boing ~ 15~$.00. carried.
