Bill Bosworth presentea to the Council a Plat of the proposed ex-
tension of Maim Street on the west end with a sixty foot right-a-way,
'to be constructed by himself.
Councilman Ellingson made a motion to accept this extension, seconded
'by C~uncilman Benschop. Oarried.
A motion was made by Councilman E]lingson requesting Representative
Vocelle to introduce a Bill at this session of Legislature,repealing
Chapter number ;namely a Bill giving County Cor~nissioners the
right to regulate the sales of alcoholic beverages.Sec.by 0.Brehmer. Carri
Bills amounting to~450.31 were ~ad and approved and authorized to
be paid on motion by Councilman Ellingson, seconded by Councilman Brehmer.
Carried.
Clerk was instructed to write Congressman Rogers pertaining to the
dumping of spoil from the proposed new channel along the west shore of
Indian River from north City limit to the south City limits.
~ayor Taylor read the monthly Police report which showed a profit
of $1,,~12.97.
~yor'Taylor recommended a raise in salary for James Pease.Council-
man £11ingson made a motion to increase James Pease salary fifty dollars
per month, to become effective i,~rch 1,1957, seconded by Councilman Ben-
schop. Carried.
Mrs.Chesser made a motion to adjourn, seconded by Councilman Ellingson.
Carried.

Special Meeting
March 7,1957
Meeting was called to order by Preside'at Sembler.
Those present were l~yor Taylor,President Sembler an~ Councilmen
Benschop and Brehmer.
Meeting was called to discuss a proposed drainage ditch to be dug
on the south side of ninth Street.
Councilman Brehmer made a motion to give City Clerk authority to
have the ~ ditch dug and to get the necessary Tile for the ditch at
the most reasonable cost,seconded by Councilman Benschop. Carried.
Councilman Brehmer made a motion to adjourn, seconded by Councilman
Benschop. Carried.
