Mecting was called to order by Chairman Pro-rem Baughman the roll called with the
following members present: Councilmen Baughman, Vlckers , Murdock.
Councilman Vlckers moved to adjourn to Narch 23, 1936 at 7.30 O'clock.

Adjourned Regular Meeting. March 23, 1936
Meeting was called reorder by Pres. Hardee the roll called with the following members
present: Mayor. Badger, Councilmen Hardee, Baughman, Murdock. Atty. Vocelle.
Minutes of meetings of Feb. 10, and March 9, 1936 were read and adopted.
Councilmen Murdock, Baughman and City Clerk Hamrick were appointed as a committee to
~draw up rules and regulations for the shuffleboard courts.
Councilman Baughman introduced the following resolution and moved its adoption: /~
Whereas F. G. Hamrick has offered to purchase from the City of Sebastian, Florida,
the following ~escribed property, located in Sebastian, ~ndian River County, ~lorida:
~eing a part of lot § of the August Park SubdiviSion in Section 31, Township 30 SoNth,
Range 39 mast, and beginning at the intersection of the North line of Ninth stree~
and Fleming G~an.t line; thence run ~orth~$~along the Fleming Grant line 39 feet, more orA,
to the.lands of G. F. Davls;,thence run ~ast and parallel with the North line of lot § of
Park subdivision to the intersection of the ~orth line of ?inth street; thence run in a
Westerly direction along the North line of Ninth street to the point of beginning; and
.Whereas, said F. G. ~amrick has offered to pay said city the sum'of One Dollar and
other valuable considerations for said above described tract of land; and Whereas, the
City Council of the said City of ~ebastian deems it ct be to the bes~ interest of said.
City that said offer be accepted, therefore,
Be It Resolved by the City Council of. the City of Sebastian, Florida, that the
of F. G. Hamrlck to purchase the tract of land hereinbefore described at and for the sum
of One Dollar and other valuable considerations be, and the same is , hereby accepted,
and the Mayor and President of the City Council be, and they are hereby directed and
empowered in the name of and on 'behalf of said City to execute a special warranty deed
to the said F. G. Hamrick conveying to him the above described tract of land.
.The foregoing resolution was duly seconded and being put to a vote was adopted as
follows:
Ayes: Hardee, Murdock, Baughman. Nays: None.
Councilman Murdock offered the following resolution and moved its adoption:
..Whereas, an offer has been received fro~ J. R. Middleton, of Stuart, Florida, for the
purchase of certain proper~y owned by the City of Sebastian, Indian ~iver County, Florida,
and more full described as follows:
All of lot § of the August Park Subdivision, a subdivision in ~ection 31, Township..
. 30 South, Ra~e 39 East, in the City of Sebastian, Florida, lying South of propert'y
now owned by ~. F. Davis and Ninth street, together with all riparian appurtenant thereto,
excepting therefrom the South §0 feet owned by W. P. Sloan and the right of way of ~tate
Road no. 4 as at present located,
at and for ~he purchase price of $500.00 to be paid ~100.00 cash and the balance upon
the closing of the deal for the. same, which is to be consumated by the purchaser when
the City of Sebastian executes a special warranty deed to the purchaser and delivers
an abstract showing a merchantable title in'and to said property to be vested in the
City of Sebastian; therefore,
Be it Resolved .by the City Council of'the City of Sebastian that it is to the ~est
interest of said City to make a sale~'"6f said property to the said J. R. Middleton for
~he price and upon the terms as herein set forth, and that the Mayor and City Clerk
.of said City be, and they are hereby, authorized and empowered to execute an agreement
in the name of and on behalf of said Clty~of Sebastian for the conveyance of said
hereinbefore described property to the said J. R. Mtddleton, upon compliance of the
said J. R. Mlddleton with the terms o.f said agreement, and upon such compliance they
are authorized and empowered to deliver to the said Y. ~. Middleton or to anyone by him
directed a special warranty deed conveying title to said hereinbefore described property,
and that said agreement and the said deed, when so executed and delivered as herein
provided for, be, and the same are, hereby ratified and confirmed as the duly authorized
acts and d~eds-of the City of Sebastian, Florida. ".
The. motion for the.adoption of said resolution was duly seconded and upon roll call
was. adopted by the following votes:
Ayes: Murdock, Baughman, Hardee. Nays: None.
Application of Meta Chesser ~or adjustment of taxes and paving was read.
Councilman Murdock made a motion that all taxes prior to 1933 be reduced to 1~33 taxes
and that 1933 and prior years taxes and paving be adjusted at 20%, 1734 taxes at 60%,
and 1935 taxes be net, and that all interest and penalties be waived.
Motion seconded by Councilman ~aughman. Motion carried.
Applications of East Coast Lumber & Supply Co., 0key Bland, Farmers Bank & Trust Co.
for adjustment of taxes were read. After considering each application Councilman
Baughman moved that all their taxes prior to 1933 be reduced to 1933 taxes and adjusted
at 20% and that 1934 taxes be adjusted at 60% and 1935 be net.
Motion was seconded by CounciLman Murdock. Motion carried.
Application of Geo.'T. Badger for adjustment of taxes and paving v~-as read.
Councilman Baughman made a motio: that his taxes_-Na~es._fforly,~rs prior to 1933 be reduced
to 1933 taxes and 1933 and prior years be adjusted at 20%, 1934 at 60% and 1935 net,
and that paving assessments be adjusted at 20~ and all interest and penalties be waived.
Motion seconded by Councilman Murdock. Motion carried.
Councilman Murdock Moved to adjourn which was seconded by.cqu.2q.~l~an Ba~ghman. Motion carried.
