WI~EREAS:
The Charles L.Futch Post 189 of the Departmen~ of Florida,American Legion,Ins.,
have offered to purchase additional property from the City of Sebastian,Florida,~djoining
their present property,for the purpose of building a new Legion Home,said property adjoining
ths present property of the ~American Legion and is not used for,or ~eld for for Municilpal
purposes and is property which has 'been. acquired by the City for the non-payment of its liens
thereon and is h~ld for sale.Therefore,
REEOLVED:
That t'.~e CitY of ~ebastian sell to the tmerican Legion the following described
property, to-wit:
Begin a~ iron pipe which is the present NE corner of the American l.e~ion property
'0sing in the SE 1/4 of the SW1/4 of Section 6,Township 31 South,and Range 39 East .Run North
1~3 feet thence West 300 feet ,thence South 133 feet to the NW corner of the ~merlcan Legion
property,thence 300 feet to POB.Said resolution was seconded '0y Councilmmn Cbesser and
carried.

It was moved by Councilman Sem~lcr ~nd seconded '~y ~ouncllman Ellingsen that ~he
City purchase the 1951 international Truck for the City,Carried.
Councilman also m°vod 'the radio be taken out of the truck and sold for not less
than $20.00,said motion v..,as seconded by Councilman i~!~llingse~ ~nd carried.
Councilman Ellingsen moved that the Street Department to convert tho truck for
street department purpose,motion seconded 'by Councilman Chesser,and carried.

Regular D~eting ~'iarch 22,1954.
Meeting called to order by President 8weatt.
Those present were ~.!'ayor Shaffer,President Sweatt a~d Councilmen Ellingsen,Taylor
and Chesser. Councilman Membler ~bsent.Attorney ~alker present.
Minutes of regular, meeting of March 8th,1954 and special meeting of March 10,1954
were approved as read.
Bill for the amount of $ 59.00 for additional insurance on International Dump
Truck which wa~ a~pro~ed by finance committee was authorized to be paid on motion by
Councilman Ellingsen ahd seconded by Councilman Taylor.Carried.
The Clerk was instructed to write a letter thanking the Indian River News for
their tireless effort in obtaining tho new rates for telephones between Veto Beach &
Se0astian and ~lelbourne and SeDastian which will go into effect Just as somn ~s the
new equipment can be installed.
Councilman Sweatt reported to the Council what was needed to fix 'the lights in
the City Park and it was moved by Councilman Taylor a~Ld secon:..ed by Councilman ~llingsen
that President Sweatt Was to report what was needed and secure 01ds on same.Carried.
