Those present were Mayor Taylor,PreB.Sembler and Councilmen Benschop, Chesser,Ellingson and Brehmer.Atty.Walker present. Bills amounting to Four hundred forty seven dollars and three cents ($447.03) was approved by the Finance Committee and authorized to be paid on motion by Councilman Ellingson, seconded by Councilman Benschop. Carried. The Clerk read Ordinance,Chapter No.146: ~u Ordinance regulating the operation of Motor Vehicles upon the streets of the City of Sebastian,Fie requiring that all motor vehicles operated upon such streets to be equ~ ped with a muffler and providing penalty for the violation thereof. The above mentioned Ordinance was read a second time by Title only on motion by Councilman Ellingson, seconded by Mrs.Chesser. Yes.~ ~ Councilman Ellingson m~de a motion to authorize Mayor Taylor to'have signs made relating the enforcement of above mentioned Ordinance,sec.by ~s.Chesser. Carried. ~s.Chesser made a motion the City donate Ten dollars(~10.O0) to the American Red Cross,seconded by Councilman Ellingsen. Carried. President Sembler appointed Councilmen Ellingson and Chesser as a Committee of two to decide on new equipment for City Hall. Councilman Chesser suggested outside of City Hall and Fire Station be painted Chartruese color.A motion to this effect was made by Council- man El~ingsen,seconded by Councilman Benschop. Carried. President Sembler appointed ~s.Chesser as a Committee of one to choose the coUor for interior painting of City Hall. Fire Chief,Jack Vickers w~s given permission b~ the Council as a whole to purchase a Eadio for the Fire Truck in the CitygS uame. Mayor Taylor read monthly Police report which showed a net profit of (~:~1,~7.) Co~u~c!lman El!ingse~ made a motion to adjourn,second~ by Councilman Benschop. Carried. Pres .Council Special Meeting ~arch 21,1957 Meeting was called to order by President Sembler. Those present were mayor Taylor,Pres.Semb!er and Councilmen Brehmer, Benschop,Chesser and Ellin~sen. This meeting was called for the following purposes: 1.Discussion of drainage ditch on 9th Street. 2.Rezoni~g of Railroad property West of Post Office and South of Main Street and East of Railroad. 3.Clerk's report on full payment from County for present occupied CityHal!. 4.Payment of group Insurance with Blue Cross to be made in City's Name. Carried. Clerk reported making payment to the Bar~f ~e~in the amount of ~zght''~' Thousand dollars for the second and third payment on new City Hall and Fire Station and the depositing of ten thousand dollars which was payment in full from the County for presently occupied City Hall. Mrs.Chesser made a motion that group Insurance for City Employees be made inACity'Smotionname with no expense to City, sec.by Councilman Benschop.
