Investiture of Newly Elected O. ffi~ia!~ by City Clerk The City Clerk swore in newly elected City Council members Louise Cartwright, Larry Paul and Ruth Sullivan, who then took their places on the dais. 2 Special City Council Meeting March 17, 1997 Page Three D. l~lection_ 9f Mayor Incumbent Mayor Louise Cartwright called for nominations for Mayor and then nominated Walter Barnes. Larry Paul nominated Louise Cartwright who declined the nomination. Being no further nominations, Walter Barnes was elected Mayor. E. i~legt~0rl of Vice Mayor Newly elected Mayor Barnes called for nominations for Vice-Mayor. Ruth Sullivan nominated Richard Taracka and Larry Paul nominated Louise Cartwright. The City Clerk called the roll on the nomination for Richard Taracka. ROLL CALL: Mr. Taracka - aye Mrs. Cartwright - nay Mr. Paul - nay Mrs. Sullivan - aye Mr. Barnes - aye MOTION CARRIED 3-2 (Cartwright, Paul - nay) Richard Taracka was elected Vice-Mayor by receiving the majority of affirmative votes on his nomination, therefore, no further roll call was taken.
