AN ORDINANCE DECLARING THE INTENTION
OF THE CITY OF SEBASTIAN TO ANNEX A
TRACT OF LAND AND EXPRESSING THE
DESIRE OF SAID CITY TO CHANGE ITS TERRI-
TORIAL LIMITS BY THE ANNEXATION OF AN
UNINCORPORATED TRACT OF LAND LYING
CONTIGUOUS THERETO AND WITHIN INDIAN
RIVER COUNTY, FLORIDA:
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE MAYOR AND CITY COUNCIL
OF THE CITY OF SEBASTIAN, FLORIDA:
SECTION 1
That the City of Sebastian does herewith declare its intention to
annex the following described property, and the City does herewith express
its desire to change its territorial limits by the annexation of an unincorpora
tract of land lying contiguous thereto and within Indian River County, Florida,
which said lands are described as follows:
From the Northeast corner of Government Lot 1, Section 1,
Township 31 South, Range 38 East, run South along Range line
38 and39 to the North right of way of the Trans Florida Rail-
way, thence Southwesterly along the North side of said right
of way to the intersection of said Trans Florida Railway and
half section line of Section 23, thence North along said half
section line, through Section 23, and continuing along half
section line of Section 14 to the Northwest corner of South-
west quarter of Northeast quarter of Section 14, thence East
on quarter line to the intersection of centerline of Roseland
Road as it now exists, thence Northerly on the Roseland Road
to the intersection of the Fleming Grant line, thence North-
easterly along said Fleming Grant line to the point of beginning;
Less, however:
1. Government Lot 2, Section 11, Township 31 South, Range
38 East.
2. The property described in the deed to Trustees of Colored
Baptist Church, as in Deed Book 5, page 454, as follows, to -
wit:
Begin at a point 4.52 chains South and 8.93 chains
West of the Northeast quarter of the Southeast quarter,
in Section 1, Township 31 South, Range 38 East, run
South 100 feet, thence East 100 feet, thence North 100
feet, thence West 100 feet to the point of beginning.
3. The property described in the deed to S. A. Braswell, as in
Deed Book 54, page 212, St. Lucie County records, as follows,
to -wit:

Beginning 453 1/2 feet South of the Northeast corner
of the Southeast quarter of Section 1, Township 31
South, Range 38 East, thence running South on Range
line 208 1/2 feet, thence West 589 feet, thence North
369 feet, thence East 462 feet, thence South 159 feet,
thence East 127 feet to the point of beginning, less
100 feet square in the Northeast corner which has
been conveyed to a Colored Church. Containing
4 1/2 acres, more or less.
4. The property described in the unrecorded deed to George
Florshutz and Margaret Florshutz, his wife, dated May 24,
1955, as follows, to -wit:
North 288.8 feet of the East 580.8 feet of the North-
east quarter of the Southeast quarter of Section 1,
Township 31 South, Range 38 East, containing 3.84
acres, more or less.
5. The North 10.25 acres of Government Lot 1, Section 1,
Township 31 South, Range 38 East.
That the City has determined that said above described tract of
land contains less than ten (10) registered voters.
SECTION 2
That the City of Sebastian does herewith declare its intention to
annex the above described tract of land to the City of Sebastian in order that
the same shall be within the corporate limits of the City of Sebastian at the
expiration of thirty (30) days from the approval of this Ordinance.
SECTION 3
All Ordinances or parts of Ordinances in conflict herewith or
inconsistent with the provisions of this Ordinance are hereby repealed.
SECTION 4
This Ordinance shall be in full force and effect immediately upon
its passage and approval by the Mayor, or upon its becoming a law without
such approval.
I hereby certify that the foregoing Ordinance was passed by the
City Council on the day of 1957.

July 24 & 29,1957 were approved as read.
Bills amounting to $1,226.51 was approved by the Finance Committee and authorized
to be paid on motion by Councilman Ellingsen,secon,.d, ed by Counci,l. man B,e.,ns.c?op.Carried.
The Clerk read an Ordinance entitled:AN

Upon motion by kLrs.Chesser,seconded by Councilman Brehmer and unanimously carried,
said Ordinance was read the first time in full.
Upon motion by Cou.~'cilman Elllngsen,seconded by Councilman Brehmer and unanimously
carried,said Ordinance was read the second time by Title only.
Upon motion by Council ~man Brehmer,secended by COuncilman Ellingsen and unanimously
carried,said Ordinance was read the third time by Title only and placed upon its final
pa ss age .
The roll was called upon the final passage of said Ordinance and the results were as
follows:
Ayes: Councilmen Sembler,Ellingsen,Chesser,Benschop and Brehmer.
Nays: None
hereupon said Ordinance hawing received an affirmative vote of three fifths of all
members of the Council v,~as declared duly adopted and upon being presented to the Mayor &
having received his approval was numbered as Chapter 150 of the Ordinances of said City
in accordance with the provisions of Section 85 of Chapter 16683 of the laws of Florida,
being the Charter of said City.
Itarry Bohannon reGuested the Council have two &ustralian pines removed from his prop-
erty due to the damage that HLight be done to the sidewalk.
The Council postponed action on this matter to a later date.

to be present at a meeting on Planning and Zoning to be held in the City of Eau Gallic,
Florida,,~ugust 21st and 22nd of 1957.
Mayor Taylor read th~ monthly Police report which showed a net profit of $2,269.13.
The Council requested ~ayor Taylor to obtain figurms on the cost of a ~958 ~mord
Intercept~r and als~ th~ trade in value of the City's present .Ford Intercepter.
