Regular meeting.
The meeting was called to order with President Middleton in the chair. On roll call
the following were found to be present:-
Mayor E. W. Vickers.

Clerk E.W. Rose
Attorney Charles A. Mitchell absent.

Visitors Messrs Harry Bohannon; O. A. Braddock; Frank Buckles

The minutes of the previous meeting were read and app?oved as read.
A discussion arose as to ~eraonal property tax in Sebastian. President Mlddleton
suggested that such taxes be forgiven prior to 194~. no further was taken.
?he clerk was asked to send out notices as of January first for occupational licenses
following a motion to that effect ~de by Councilman R.G. Hardee, seconded by Coun-
cilman R.A, Tillis and carried by the House.
Councilman Shaw moved, seconded by CouncilmanTillis , that Mr. Chas. Hendricks be
given until May first to pay the interests,taxes,andinsurance on Property occupied
since 1938.
Mayor E.W.Viekers read a letter received from the U.S. Engineering ~ept.regarding
proposed Inland Waterway extending from Jacksonville to Miami, suggesting that a
harbor be installed at Sebastian,our city being liable for $2?,000 to pay fQrl. harbor
impro?ements. This to be a postwar project. The MaYor was asked to write for
further details.
The letter offered by Mrs, Bland was again read to the council.
Councilman Hardee tendered his resignation from the council in person to take ef-
fect May first.
Councilman Shaw moved that the clerk write Mr. Hamrick in Jacksonville asking him
to send the necessary roofing at the expense of the City of Sebastian. Said roof-
to be used on the City Hall. On second by Councilman ~mith the motion was carried.
The Chairman expressed his appreciation for the interest evidenced by the visitors
On a motion by Councilman ~illis the meeting was adjourned at 11:30 P.M.
