Park Chas. Mitchell The minutes of tho meeting of Eurch 25th were read and approved. Mr. J. A. Groves addressed the Council and asked for a reduction in taxes on his property in the W~ of SW~ and all SE~ of SW~ W. of Fellsmere Railroad (except land to C. E. Taylor and Sarah L. Martin) in Section 6, Twp. ~1, Range ~9, boing 108 acres more or less. MOTI(.E: made by Councilman Vickers, seconded by Councilman Hicks, that the proposition recom~nended by ~yor Badger at Regular ~eeting of ~rch ESth in regard to ~. J. A. Groves deeding to the City the S.W. ~0 acres of his property provided the City exempt him from taxes for five years be not accepted. Notion carried. The Clerk and Councilman Hardee were appointed to communicate with I~r. Drew cashier of the Indian River County Bank in regard to security for tho City funds. Mr. Paul Kroegel presented a petition to the City Council in regard to the removal of ohe Southern limits of the City from t~o middle of Section 7, Twp ~1, Range U9 to North end Section ~ Twp ~1, Range Zg. Petition placed on file. ~,~0TIODT: made by Councilman Hardee, seconded by Councilman Hicks, that Attorney be instructed to prepare an Ordinance relative to license tax on the dance hall. ~ot ion carried. I~0TIOIf: made by Councilman Vickers, seconded by Councilman Hicks, that Check from T,[. Ii. ~'~iller for license for dance hall be rejected. Motion carried. Councilman Vickers introduced the following Resolution, seconded by Councilman Hicks. RESOLUF!0N 82. Whereas, it appoars that in the assessment of taxes of the property of Yas. A. Groves a clerical error w:~s made, whereby' the amount of said taxes was computed as follows: W~- of S~V~ of all S~ of SW~ west of Fellsmere railroad (except land to C. E. Taylor and Sarah L. }~artin) Sec. 6, Tv~ 31, Range 39, 108 acres amounting 'to $2V0.00 for the years 1927 and 28 when the same should have been ~1~5.00. Therefore be i t Resolved, that the City Tax Collector be and she is hereby authorized and empowered to make the necessary corrections and refund to the said Yas. A. Groves ~135.00 overcharge on account of said clerical error. Those votin~ in favor of th.~: above Resolution were: Councilmen ~[artin, Park, Hicks, Vickers, Hardee.
