Special meeting called by Mayor Roberts account of the Police Car.
The Police Car had been taken to Hickman's Garage for wheel alignment as the tires
were badly.
Mr Hickmans report was Police car needed king pins and rebushed. Idler asmembly,
Upper arm on left side,Inner shaft & Bushings and any other parts that showed wear.
He said it ~.'as impossible $o correct tire wear with that present in the front
suspension units,as the bushings were so loose that the wheels can change their
angles on the road.
This was disscussed and the possible chance of getting a new car that was heavier.
It was agreed tha~ the new car was too ex~enslve as the first six months r~nning
had it cost 196.60 more for upkeep than the last six months of the old 'car.
Prices on other cars were to be got by members o~fthe Council.
No more business meeting adjourned.
SpeciA~ Meeting April 12,1949.
Special meeting was called by Mayor Roberts for 2.00 P.M. but there were not enough
of the Council who could be brought together so the meeting was called for 7.30 P.M.
At this meeting the Police said it was not stfe to run the Car over 65 or 70 miles
per hour as the car would, shimmy so bad it was unsafe.
Again the new car was dlsscussed and it was decided to take the car to Helseth Motor
and see if they would fix it at no charge.The radiator was also leaking and Helseth said
it would be a five dollar charge on the radiator.
A motion was asked for and it was moved by Councilman Sembler and seconded by Cou~cilman
Letchworth that the car be taken to Helseth Motor Co.and in as much as Helseth Motor
could not do anything before Friday A.M. Councilman asked for the Officer to take the
car in the next morning. Said motion was carried.
