~weeting called to order by Fresident Pro Tern Taylor.
Those present were ~ayor Shaffer,~res. Pro 'l'em Taylor and councilmen Sembler,Ellingsen,
and Chesser.city Attorney Walker present.
Minutes of the last meeting were approved as read.
~ayor Shaffer told the council that ~rs DyWw~n's Brother who was visiting here reported
an unsanitary condition existing at the rear of Mr Turlington's property which was turned over
to Councilman Sllingsen who is Ohairman of ~anitation.Mr Ellingsen reported that when he arriv
ed the rubbish had been burned.~r Turlington told Oouncllman Ellingsen ~hat he would get a
barrel to put the rubbish in.A~r Ellingsen told the ~ouncil that he thought the otate sanitary
Inspector should make an inspection,whwerby ~ouncllman ~hesser said that she thought 'the Saate~
should not only inspect one plawe but should inspect every place. It was then moved by
Councilman Sembler that the the State Inspector be notified to inspect the City for sanitary
violations,said motion was seconded Oy ~ouncllman ~llingsen and carried.
Councilman Uhesser reported to the ~ouncil that the ~ld Dixie would be resurfaced at
the same time as the ~oseland road. Also that the ~lty park was cleaned up by the 0onvicts.
oouncllman ohesser also reported the a pipe in the ~ity park was broken and the ~ouncil
turned same over to ~rs Chesser to take care of having same repaired.
Mr Snowden re,resenting the sebastian Garage aske~,~:~he~Oi~-'Oou~cil for a permit to
operate a used car lot and sell parts from cars parked on lot,this caused a leng~ discuss-
ion on~.auto wrecks and what was and was not junk.~he Clerk was asked to read section eight
of the C-1 (Commercial) Zoning ordinance number llS.~r Turlington and ~r Snowden both re¢
ted the $ity to change the 0-1 zoning ordinance to M-1 which would permit junk and auto
wrecking on the following lots.Lots 1-2-~-~-5-6 & ? in Hardee S/D ~ for ~r Turlington and
Lots 1~-14-15-16- ~ 17 ~'or the Sebastian Garage in hardee S/D B. Mr Turlington being in
Block 2 on the NE cot of First St and US 1 Highway and the Sebastian Garage being in ~lock 1
on the SE cot of ~irst Street and the 0S 1 highway.The City Attorney Walker explained the
ordinance said that to change the zoning in the city,he thought wo~ld require a public
hearing.Whereby Council Sembler moved that the Clerk insert in a newspaper that a public
hearing would be held at the next regular meeting o~ the City oouncil on ~,~onda~ night of
April 26,195~,Said motion was seconded by Councilman sllingsen. Carried.
~ills amounting to $619.79 approved 'by the finance committee were ordered paid on
motion by Councilman ~llingsen and seconded by councilman ohesser.oarried.

~ills amounting to ,7S.58 approved by the finance committee were authorized to be
paid on motion '0y ~ouncil~'~an which was seconded by 0ouncilman Taylor and passed.
mr W.H.0wens gave the City an estimate of $296.50 to clear alley and marl to cover
saI~ .
Mrs Chesser told the 01ty Oouncil that ~r George ~elson had a picture he would give
the city if ~hey would accept it,councilman moved ~hat the city accept picture and councilma
'~'aylor seconded maid motion which carried.
~s Ohesser also told the council that if the oity would clean the Park in Ocean
Breeze Subdivision that the Ohurch of God would see that the ~ark was kept clean.
