Meeting called to order 'by President 2weatt.
Those present were M~yor Sheller,President Sweatt,Councilmen Sembler,Ellingsen,
ihlstrom and Nash..Attorney Walker aAso present.
There being no amendments or corrections minutes 'of the lawt meeting were approved
as r-~a d.
~'~ayor 3haffer reported that all children with b~cycles were notified to have lights
on same when riding at nlght.
Councilman Sembler ChaTrman of Street and Alley reported that. the Sebastian Garage
asked to have curb lawn filled with marl,but Councilman reportedcto the Council that the
City had given the Sebastian Garage permission to cut the curb in 1946 and ths~ they were
to keep it up as long as they were usefl~g City Property .
Chairmen Ellingsen of Sanitation had only one favorable report to m~ke which was on
septic tank of Mr henschof.
County Commissioner H.C.Wa~ts was present to ~uswer quwstions of the City Council
mem0ers and after some discussion on writ the City was receiving from the County from the
Bridge and drainage funds,he pointed that the City of SeOastian weald receive only one half
of one percent of a total of $104,750.00 which is the County non-exempt real estate valuation
of City of Sebastian. At this poimt Councilman Sembler told Chmmlssioner WaStes that in
1946 the County did some work for the City in oiling and sandi~ Louisianna Ave but the
oiling machine was not working the way it should and that Edge Carter promised tl~,e City
that they would come back the following year and finish the street right,and in as much ;at they have not yet fulfilled their promise,Councilman Sembler asked Chmmissioner
.tts to have Louisiana Ave Finished so as to save what work had already been done.Commissione
~tts said he would ask for the work to be done but sugested that the Clerk write the
County 0ommissioners a letter of said request.
M~or Sheller brought up the subject of social securety for the City Employees and after
some discussion it was turned over to the Attorney to secure what information needed from the
Florida Industrial Co~miission as to what is required and what rulings to be adheared to
by both Employees and Employers.
The Clerk was requested to send post cards to all dog Owners to have dog tags secured
on their dogs as the City will start to pick up dogs without same.
Mr l~oser applied for 0uilding permit to build C~r Port to his present home and on
motion by Councilman Dahlstrom which was aecondec by Councilr~an Nash said per,nit w'asgranted.

~'linutes of t~e last meeting were approved as read.
Clerk informed the Mayor and City Counclll that the City had ~een notified the bonds from
Mr Babson were at the bank (Indian River Ci~rus ) and check for the amount of $~62.50 would
written against the general fund to redeem same.
Councilman Sembler Chairman of the Streets asked the City authority to purchase two tires
for the Cub Tractor as the tires were advertised at 30% discount.Authorization w~s given
~.~"motlon by Councilman and seeonded by Councilman Nash.carried.

Mayor Shaffer gave report on the Police Department and said report to be filed.
The Clerk was asked to contact Mr Vocelle if the Chief could deputize any Citizen in the
case of emergency.
