EACH EXPRESSED CONCERN THAT THE SYSTEM COULD BE ABUSED AND THAT STRONG RULES AND REGULATIONS SHOULD BE OUTLINED BEFORE INCEPTION OF SUCH A SYSTEM. MS. HOFFMAN ALSO ASKED COUNCIL WHY THE SEBASTIAN LAKES MEMBERSHIPS ADVERTISEMENTS HAD ALREADY BEEN RUN IN THE NEWSPAPER. RICHARD LONGTON, VICE PRESIDENT IN CHARGE OF CONSTRUCTION FOR CUMBERLAND FARMS CAME TO THE PODIUM AND MAYOR HARRIS ADVISED HIM TO SPEAK AT THE TIME OF THAT AGENDA ITEM SO THAT HE WOULD HAVE MORE OF AN OPPORTUNITY TO SPEAK. J.W. THOMPSON, 125 MAIN STREET, SPOKE AS AN INDIVIDUAL, ON THE CUMBERLAND FARMS CURB CUT ISSUE, AND ADVISED COUNCIL THAT THIS ITEM SHOULD BE SENT BACK TO PLANNING AND ZONING. MAYOR HARRIS STATED THAT JONES INTERCABLE HAS HAD DELAYS DUE TO BANKRUPTCY OF ONE OF iTS SUPPLIERS AND SINCE THERE IS BASICALLY CONSTRUCTION GOING ON THROUGHOUT THE CITY BY JONES THAT THIS REQUEST FOR A PERMIT SHOULD APPLY. MAYOR HARRIS ASKED CAROL CARSWELL TO TRY TO ARRANGE A WEDNESDAY, WITH MR. SCHNEIDER AND COUNCIL. APRIL 30TH MEETING COUNCILMAN MCCARTHY QUESTIONED WHEN A PRELIMINARY PLAN FOR THE AIRPORT MIGHT BE READY. COUNCILMAN RONDEAU, AIRPORT ADVISORY COMMITTEE LIAISON, TOLD HIM THAT AT THE LAST AIRPORT MEETING HE HAD BEEN INFORMED THAT IN SIXTY (60) DAYS A PRIMARY PLAN WOULD BE SUBMITTED TO THE FAA WHICH THE ALLOCATION OF MONEY WOULD BE BASED UPON, AND THE MASTER PLAN WOULD BE PREPARED FROM THOSE FINDINGS. COUNCILMAN VALLONE ASKED ABOUT THE GOLF COURSE INVESTIGATION. MAYOR HARRIS SAID THE REPORT HAD ARRIVED AT HIS OFFICE THAT AFTERNOON AND WAS AVAILABLE. RICHARD LONGTON, VICE PRESIDENT IN CHARGE OF CONSTRUCTION FOR CUMBERLAND FARMS, REQUESTED THAT THE COUNCIL AMEND THE CODES GOVERNING THE DISTANCE BETWEEN A GAS ISLAND AND BUILDING (50 FEET), IN THEIR CASE, BECAUSE OF THE 74 FOOT EASEMENT ENFORCED BY THE COUNTY THEY ARE UNABLE TO BUILD THE GS ISLAND WHERE THE CODE DIRECTS. THEY ARE WILLING TO ACCEPT THE TEMPORARY CURB CUT DESIGNATED PROVIDING THEY ARE ALLOWED TO PASS OVER PROPERTY TO THE WEST WHEN IT IS DEVELOPED.
