Those'present were Mayor Middleton,President Anderson,~ouncilmen Sembler Letchwprth,Elllngsen and Park. Minutes of thw last meeting were approved as read. ollls to the amount of ~121.72 approved by the finance committee were ordered paid on motion by ~ouncilman Sembler and seconded by councilman ~,llingsem. On motion by uouncilman Sembler which was seconded by Councilman Letchworth · £he ~ass printing co of Melbourne was given the oeder to print fifty 'l'raffic Violation Books at the cost of ~26.85. mayor Middleton reported that the 25th anniversary of Indian ~iver Oounty to be held at Yero neach ~'lorida on the 7th. day of June 1950 would Oe declaired a holiday for the entire County.Also that instead of a barbecue which was originally planed there would be a fish fry.He was asked to contact the fishermen in Sebastian for the fish and also cleaned.~he Anniversary uommittee to pay for the fish and the cleaning. ~yor Middleton asked for one page At the cost of $15.00 in the Memo News which is published by Hev.0wens of Wab~sso and to be sent to the different States.About 2000 to 2500 to mailed.Motion by ~ouncilman Sembler and seconded by oouncilman Ellingsen ~ave Mayor MiddletOn authority to handle the advertising. Elllngsen on motion by ~ouncilman~which was seconded by $ouneilman ~etchworth '£he City consented to give ~ 100.00 to the Anniversary Gommlttee for the County Celebration on June ?,1950. Mayor Middleton a~so asked cooperation of the City with ~ellsmere and ~oseland in setting wp a fund for advertising of the Sebastian inlet to out of Stmte visitors.Said fund would take care of the north end o~ the County. ~etchworth mayor Middleton asked for a chairman of the flo~t committee and Councilman was appointed and also'funds up to thirty dollars to cover the expense of the float. ~ppropriation of the funds was passed on motion by Councilman ~etchworth and seconded by ~ouncllman ~embler. on motion by ~ouncilman Sembler which was ~econded by oouncilman Ellingsen the Clerk was ordered to buy piece of land on Louisiana Ave which is owned by the ~tate and described as Part of Soy. Lot 4 as in deed book 25 ,~age 200 as on ~ay 20,1935. said motion carried. ~esolution for the rescinding of resolution passed by the City of Sebastian council ~ec.28,1945 for the use of County property used for street purpose was passed on motlo~ by Concilman Sembler ~nd seconded by councilman ~.etchworth. councilman Semblcr introduced a n~w resolution to buy froE ~'~ indi~n ~_~vcr County property described as, Beg. ~here Palmetto Ave intersects with west line of the ~.E.C.Ry ~un Wly.along south line of Palmetto Ave to east line of Louisiana Ave 100 feet.thence Sly along east line of Louisiana Ave $0 f~et.thence Ely at right angles to nouisiana Ave 100 fleet to Hy themce Nly along west line of My to Beg.in section 6,Township 31 South and Hange'39 East. The ~lerk was ordered to buy sa~d propwrty fr~m county on motion by Councilman Sembler which was seconded by uouncilmau Letchworth.carried. Councilman Elllngsen was giyen authority to hire two men to help finish the shuffle boards on motion by councilman Park'which was seconded by councilman LStchworth.~arrled. Clerk was authorized to write to the U.S.Army Engineers for a permit to build pier in the Indian Hiver.Pler to be at foot of Main Street and to extend 1000 feet east in the river and have a 100 foot T at the eas~ end.
