Upon roll call the following was found to be present, ~ayor,Oeo. T. Badger,
Councilman, R. C. Hardee, G. T. Glasgow, Roy K. Fields, Attorney, Chas.
A. Nitchell, E. ~. VIc~ers' and L. 0.. Baughman was found to be absent.
~{inutes of regular meeting of April,10th, and Special Meeting Df April,
14th, were read and approved.
The ordinance as to the wholesaling and retailing of gasoline and kerosene
was brought up and discussed, and seeming there is some objection to the
ordinance in its present form, discussio.~_ v,~as made at some length as to the
b~st means of amending said ordinance, but was deemed best to postpon~ it
until another meeting when ail the councilmen can be present.

Some visitors who wms present raised the question about the~City Charter
~.~r. ~chuman who was present, raised the Guestion as to the legality of passing
on such measure without first consulting the citizens of Sebastian in an open

and further answered the question that the council was prompted to frame said
bill by the recent decision 'by the Supreme" Court,who ruled thati':all:.wi.ld

town or c.i.~y:, could not b.e..c0mpell~ $o pay taxes to the incorporation or
municipality, and therefore to preven~ future lawsuits, and to save the city
all expense possible, the move was made.
