PUBLIC HEARING WAS CALLED TO ORDER BY MAYOR PAT FLOOD, JR., AT 7:00 P.M.
MAYOR FLOOD OPENED THE MEETING BY INFORMING THE MEMBERS OF THE PUBLIC THAT EVERYONE WOULD HAVE
AN OPPORTUNITY TO SPEAK, BUT NO DISORDERLY CONDUCT WOULD BE TOLERATED.
ROLL CALL WAS TAKEN OF THE MEMBERS PRESENT: VICE MAYOR LEWIS GRAY (PRESENT, BUT WILL ABSTAIN
FROM VOTING BECAUSE OF CONFLICT OF INTEREST), COUNCILMEN EVERETT GASS, CLIFFORD HOOSE, JOHN
JOACHIM, MAYOR PAT FLOOD, JR., AND CITY ATTORNEY L. B. VOCELLE.
VICE MAYOR GRAY READ A STATEMENT THAT HE WAS ABSTAINING FROM VOTING SINCE HE IS THE REAL ESTATE
AGENT HANDLING THE SALE OF THE PROPERTY INVOLVED. (COPY ATTACHED.)
MR. CHARLES SULLIVAN, ATTORNEY, PRESENTED HIS ARGUMENT FOR GLOBAL PAVING SYSTEMS, INC.
MR. JEROME F. KRAMER, ATTORNEY, PRESENTED HIS ARGUMENT FOR THE ORANGE HEIGHTS PROPERTY OWNERS
ASSOCIATION AND THE SEBASTIAN HIGHLANDS PROPERTY OWNERS ASSOCIATION.
AFTER CONSIDERABLE DISCUSSION BETWEEN THE TWO ATTORNEYS, THE CITY COUNCIL AND INPUT FROM THE
PUBLIC, MOTION WAS MADE BY COUNCILMAN JOACHIM, SECONDED BY COUNCILMAN HOOSE, TO UPHOLD THE
DECISION OF THE PLANNING AND ZONING COMMISSION AND THE APPEAL OF GLOBAL PAVING SYSTEMS, INC.
BE DENIED.
