MOTION BY COUNCILMAN SZELUGA, SECONDED BY COUNCILMAN VALLONE, THAT THE CITY ATTORNEY AMEND THE RESOLUTION ON TIE DOWN FEES AT THE AIRPORT, TO MAKE THEM MORE ACCEPTABLE TO THE MAJORITY OF THE PEOPLE USING THE AIRPORT, TO A FEE OF NOT MORE THAT $20.00 PER MONTH FOR REGULAR PERMANE~ USERS AND $1.00 PER DAY FOR TRANSIENTS TO REMAIN THE SAME. ALSO THAT THE $20.00 FEE BE SPLIT BETWEEN THE CITY AND THE AIRPORT MANAGER ON THE BASIS OF $15,00 TO THE CITY AND $5.00 TO THE AIRPORT MANAGER AND THE SPLIT OF THE FEE TO REMAIN THE SAME FOR THE TRANSIENTS. MINUTES , WORKSHOP MEETING MAY 1~ 1985 MOTION BY COUNCILMAN SZELUGA, SECONDED BY COUNCILMAN VALLONE, THAT THE CITY ATTORNEY PREPARE A RESOLUTION FOR TIE DOWN FEES AT THE AIRPORT FOR PERMANENT RESIDENTS, $20.00 PER MONTH TRANSIENTS $1.00 PER DAY AND THE FEES SO COLLECTED TO BE DIVIDED BETWEEN THE CITY AND THE AIRPORT MANAGER ON TEH BASIS OF 75% TO THE CITY AND 25% TO THE AIRPORT MANAGER. MOTION AMENDED BY COUNCILMAN SZELUGA, SECONDED BY COUNCILMAN VALLONE, TO DELETE THE WORD "AIRPORT MANAGER" AND TO BE REPLACED WITH "FIXED BASE OPERATOR". MAYOR GALLAGHER RECOMMENDED THAT THE CITY SOLICIT ~OR BIDS, IT WAS THE CONCENSUS OF THE COUNCIL TO SOLICIT FOR BIDS IN THE AMOUNT OF $6,000.00 FOR CHRISTMAS DECORATIONS. MAY'OR GALLAGHER STATED THAT HE WOULD SET A DATE FOR NEXT MONTH TO REVIEW BIDS. PROPOSED TRAFFIC CONNECTOR C.R. 512/MAIN STREET MAYOR GALLAGHER REQUESTED AUTHORIZATION FROM THE CITY COUNCIL TO PURSUE THE MATTER, REGARDING SWAPING PROPERTY' EASEMENTS WITH INDIAN RIVER COUNTY SCHOOL BOARD. HE INDICATED THAT ACQUIRING THE EASEMENTS WOULD NOT COST THE CITY AND THAT HE WOULD REPORT BACK TO THE COUNCIL PERIODICALLY BEFORE ANY SURVEYING AND DEED RECORDING WAS DONE. COMMODITIES IN THE CITY OF SEBASTIAN, PROVIDING THE CiTY WILL PROVIDE A BUILDING FOR THE DISTRIBUTION, VOLUNTEERS TO DISTRIBUTE THE fOOD AND SOMEONE FROM THE CITY TO TRANSPORT COMMODITIES fROM THE COUNTY fACILITIES. HE EXPLAINED THAT IT IS THE COMMITTEE'S INTENTION THAT THIS BAIT/TACKLE SHOP FACILITY BE RUN AND OWNED BY THE CITY IN ORDER TO GENERATE FUNDS FOR THE CITY AND TO ALSO CONTROL PARKING AND THE SIZE OF BOATS UTILIZING THE R~P. THE PARKS AND RECREATION COMMITTEE REQUESTS THE OPPORTUNITY TO LOOK INTO THIS FURTHER. MOTION BY COUNCILMAN VALLONE, SECONDED BY COUNCILMAN ROTH THAT THE PARKS AND RECREATION COMMITTEE GO AHEAD AND MAKE A FEASIBILITY STUDY IN REFERENCE TO A CITY' OWNED AND RUN BAIT AND TACKLE SHOP. MOTION CARRIED. MAYOR GALLAGHER REPORTED THAT THE CITY Of SEBASTIAN HAS NOT BEEN OFFICIALLY INFORMED BY THE COUNTY REGARDING PLANS FOR RE-ROUTING C.R. 512 HE EXPLAINED THAT HE ONLY KNOWS THE COUNTY HAS PURCHASED THE RIGHT-OF-WAY ON THE NORTH SIDE Of C.R. 512 AND MANY RUMORS AS TO WHAT IS GOING TO HAPPEN, BUT NOTHING FORMAL HAS BEEN REQUESTED. SINCE THERE IS MUCH CONCERN ESPECIALLY WITH LOCAL BUSINESSES LOCATED IN THAT AREA, MAYOR GALLAGHER RECOMMENDED THAT A GROUP BE FORMED INCLUDING HIMSELF AND THAT THEY GO DIRECTLY BEFORE THE COUNTY COMMISSIONERS TO SHOW THEIR CONCERN AND FEELINGS.
