Mr. McCurdy.
Minutes of last two meetings read and approved.
Councilman Turlington reported that culvert on ntneth stree~ was being
cleaned out.
Motion made by Councilman Turlington and seconded by Councilman Smith
that City Park be mowed and cleaned up for Easter Services. Mr. Stevepson
was aske~ to do the Job.
It was suggested to the Street and Alley Committee that they ask the State
Road Dept., to cut the grass along the river fromt in order to help clean
up the town.
Mr. Middleton asked the Council and the Townspeople to invest a little time
and money to clean up their *scant lots in order to make them more attract-
ive for sale. Mayor Shafor and Councilman Turlington were appointed as a
committee to contag$/Constructton Companies in Vero Beach for bull dozer
to clear up these ~o~$.
Mr. Shafor asked the Chief of Police to divide his trade as equally as
possible between the service stations here in the City. Sebastian Garage
to do all repair work on the car and be by-passed on the gas business.

Minutds of last meeting read and approved.
Councilman Smith reported that Mt. Hardee was short around 25.feet of
land on North Central; but that he will have to have the plat to make it
definite.
Motion made by C. 9h Sembler that Mayor be authorized to draw
duplicate Tax Certificates 503 and 2626, sold 7/4/27 and 9/4/33 respectiv
ely, for the amount of $54.71, for the purpose of replacing lost tax
certificates.

Motion made by Councilman Turlington, duly seconded by Councilman
Sembler that the following Ordinance be adcp%ed:
AN ORDINANCE PROHIBITING THE ~PiNG, MAINTAINING,
PRNNINN OR FEEDING OF SWINE WITHIN THE CORPORATE LIMITS
LIMITS OF THE CITY OF SEBASTIAN, FLORIDA; AND PROVIDING
~0R A PENALTY FOR THE FIOLATION OF THIS ORDINANCE.
BE IT ORDAINED BY TEE MAYOR AND CITY COUNCIL OF THE CIT~ OF SEBASTIAN,
FLOR IDA:
Section 1. That from and after the passage of this Ordinance, it shall be
unlawful for any person or persons to keep, maintain, pen or feed any
swune within the Corporate Limits of the City of Sebastian, Florida;
providing, however, that this 0rdinanoe shall not apply to Swine impounded
by virtue of any City 0ridnance, or Swine exhibited at any County or
Municipal Fair or exhibition.
Section 2. Any ~erson or persons violating the provisions ofthis
Ordinance whall be Dunished by fine not exceeding One Hundred Dollars
($100.) or by impris&nment not exceeding fifteen days for each violation.
Section 3. All ordinances and parts of ordinances ih conflict herewith
arehereby repealed.
Section 4. This ordinance shall be in full force and effect immediately
upon itspassage and approval by ~he Mayor.

only ones to respond to the noticew about uns~itary tolSs.
Notion ~de by Councilm~ Sembler that the City of Sebastian advertise the
· irport, to be sold under sealed bids with the right to accept or ~efuse bids.
Bills for ~nth~resented to 0ouncil. Motion made by A. Smith seconded by
O. Sembler that all bills be paid. Ail Statements to be turned over to
Mayor Sha~or to be ex~ined and passed. Moved and seconded that Holland
be re-embursed by the City for putti~ car in shape for use by the City
as Police Car. Motion to adjourn at 9:50 pm.
Special Meeting
May 16, 1946.
City Council
The Meeting was called to order by Mr. Middleton, President, with the
following members present:
Mayor Bhafor; Councilmen: Sembler, Smit~, Turlington - present
Bohannoh - absent
The meeting was called for the purpose ofconsidering the resignation of
the City Clerk, Mrs. Mabel Holland andPoliceman, ~ade Holland.
A motion was made by Councilman Smith and Seconded by Turlington
to accept the resignation of Mabel Holland as City Clerk as of May 10,
1946. The motion was carried unanimously.
A motion was made by Councilman Sembler and seconded by Smith
to accept the regisnation of Made Holland as Chief of Police as of
May 11, 1946. The motion was carried unanimously.
A motion was made by Councilman Smith and seconded by Turlington that
the City of Sebastian pay to Mr. Holland the sum of $22. for repairing the
clutch and $40. for removing signs on the car which he has been using as
a police car for thecity; it being also provided that he return the uniforms
and a special light on the car which belongs to the City. It was also agreed
that he pay for the cost of the installation ofthe telephone into his home,
which amounts d to $4.3§. Also the insurnace on the car was to be
signed over to the City of Sembastin. The motion carried.
