May 8, 1961
Meeting was called to order by President Sembler.
Those present were Mayor Rohme, President Sembler,
Councilm~n DeCristofaro, Councilman Baxter, Councilman Nash and Councilman
~innegan.
Minutes of regular meetings of April 10th and April 24th,1961
were approved as read.
Bills in the amount of $1571.53 were approved by the Finance
Committee and authorized to be paid on motion by Councilman Baxter, seconded
by Councilman Nash, carried.
Councilman Nash recommended that sign ordinance be enforced.
Ma2or Rohme to contact City Attorney in reference to legal steps to be taken
for enforcing sign ordinance, especially pertaining to swing signs at Gas
Stations.
Mayor Rohme recommended that we use existing County dump,
until such time as it may be feasible to change. Council agreed.
Councilman Baxter suggested ~hat a bulldozer be used to
clean up the City dump, West of Louisqna Ave. Councilman Baxter was
instructed by remaining Councilmen to attend to same.
President Sembler appointed Councilman Baxter and.
Councilman Nash to look over situation and make recommendation in regards
to parking place for new defense truck.
President Sembler recommended that Councilman Baxter look
further into the plumbing condition in and about City Hall.
Letter read from Citizens Planning & Zoning Committee in
reference to changingsZOning classification from C-2 to C-1 on strip from
Main Street to First treet, Lot 6 through Lot 12.
Mayor Rohme recommended that Council give consideration but not advertise
until complete zoning changes are recommended by Citizens Planning & Zoning
Committee. Councilman ~innegan wrote letter to be memeographed, and mailed
to property owners where zoning changes are recommendSd. Approved by Council.
Councilman Nash moved that all purchase orders be signed/
by department head, and purchase order numbers be on invoices. Seconded ~
by Councilman DeCristofaro, Carried. ............ ~
Councilman Baxter requested consideration of the Council
pertaining to maintenance of islands on U. S. # I Highway.
Mayor Rohme to instruct police to look into matter of
dogs disturbing residents on Louisana Ave.
Councilman Nash made a motion to adjourn, seconded by
Councilman Baxter, carried.
