Mayor Badger addressed the Council telling 'them of a letter tie received from
tho Florida State Chamber of Commerce in regard to Sebastian Chamber of
Commerce membership amounting to $10.00. As our Chamber did not have the
money he sugg.'osted that this be paid from 'the City Treasury~ however, after
discussing this matter the City Council decided it would not be advisable
to use the money from the General fund.
Minutes of ~pril 8th, 23rd, 26th, were read and approved.
~r. Chas. W. Sembler appeared before the Council with a letter from the
Southern Fisheries Association in regard to proposed sales tax of one cent
~er pound on all fish and other sea foods sold in Florida. He asked that a
letter be written our Senator and Representative. The Council suggested that
tko Secretary of the Cham~er of Commerce write instead of the Council and the
members of the Council write as individuals.
A Letter from 5~. Young relative to the taxes on the Harworth property was
read and upon Motion made by Councilman Vickors, seconded by Councilman Hardee,
a settlement was post poned until the Council came to some agreement on 'the
ta:~es for the year 1926.
Motion carried.
MOTION: made by Councilma:~ Hicks, seconded by Councilman Park, that Clerk be
instructed to write warrant payable to Sumner and Sumner for the two Cook
bonds numbers 4 and 5. The proposition b.oin~ to pay ~1500.00 plus accrued
interest amounting to ~125.00 and carr7 the ~500.00 balance for a period of
twelve months.

The Clerk was instructed to write Dr. ?atchen that his propostion in regard to
taxes on his property w~uld be taken up at next meetin~.
CHAPTER 57
An 0~dinance vacating and abandoning all Streets in Orange Ridge Subdivision
in the City of Sebastian, Florida except Dixie ~vor. ue. Whereas, it appears
that it would 'bo to the advantage of the City of Sebastian to close, vacate
and abandon all Streets in 0ra~f!~o Ridge Subdivision in the City of '_3a;bastian
except Dixie Avenue; 'therefore be it ordained by the l~u[..:'or and City Council of
the City of Sebastian, Florida:
Was read for the first time in full.
MOT'fCN: made by Councilman Park, seconded by Councilman Vickers, that Ordinance
be read tho second time by ti-Olc only.
Motion carried.

be read thc third time by' title only and put upon its passage.
Motion carried.
