Regular Meeting
Meeting was called to order by ~ouucil President at 7:00 P.M.
Those present were Mayor Boone and Councilme~ Channell, Leonardy, DeCristofaro, ~itt
and Stevenson.
Minutes of adjourned meeting of April 23, 1962 were read and approved.
April bills in the amount of $1,720.02 were approved for payment. Councilman Leonardy
made the motion, seconded by Councilman ~itt.
City Clerk was instructed to advertise as follows: "Veterinarian will be available
at City Hall from l:00 P.M. until 4:00 P.M. Saturday, June 9, to vaccinate dogs.
All dogs within the city limits must be vaccinated and be licensed."
Councilman Leonardy moved "Be it resolved that Mayor Boone is and is hereby authorized
to enforce the provisions of Sections 41 and 44 of the city charter pertaining to
clea~ing of lots." Seconded'by Councilman ~itt. Carried.
Motion made by Councilman Leonardy to table until the June meeting consideration of
the "Rules of Procedure". Seconded by Councilman DeCristofaro. Carried.
City Clerk was instructed to write letter to District Engineer, Florida State Road
Dept., Ft. Lauderdale, reference cross-overs and speed limits, 45 m.p.h, city limit
to c~ty limit.
Doct~rEckerle was appointed committee of one to arrange for a pastor, priest or
rabbi to open future council meetings with short prayer or reading from the Bible.
Councilman DeCristofaro moved that the Zoning Commission named at April meeting be
confirmed and appointed. Seconded by Councilman ~itt. Carried.
Councilman Stevenson moved that check received from U. S. Fidelity & Guarranty Co.
be placed in a savings account and held until auditors'arrival at end of 0ctober~
Seconded by Councilman Leonardy. Carried.
Councilman Witt moved that Finance Committee be authorized to spend up to $600.00
monies remaining in city engineer's budget, to have prepared city maps for zoning
and other purposes. Seconded by Councilman DeCristofaro.
Councilman DeCristofaro moved that Mrs. George D. Thomas be appointed to fill the
v~c'a~cy on the ,Board of Adjustments. Seconded by Councilman Leonardy. Carried.
Councilman Leonardy moved that property on tax bills numbers 111-202-220-244-246-25S-
254-278-299-S40-~41-~5~ and S56 be advertised for sale for non-payment of taxes, this
ad to be run in a county newspaper for four consecutive weeks, in compliance with
~lorida Statute #19~.51. Seconded by Councilman DeCristofaro. Carried.
Councilman Leonardy moved that the pay of Mildred Hunt be increased to $2.00 per hou~,~
retroactive to May l, 1962. Seconded by Councilman ~itt. Carried.
Councilman Stevenson moved that Honeycutt & Assoc. be asked for a semi-monthly progress
report. City Cl~rk to make request in writing. Seconded by Councilman DeCristofaro.
Carried.
City Clerk was instructed to write letter to Florida East Coast Railroad
requesting grade crossings at Main St. ~ Fellsmere Rd. be repaired.
