SPECIAL MEETING CALLED TO ORDER BY MAYOR JIM GALLAGHER AT 4:00 P.M.

MAYOR GALLAGHER ANNOUNCED THAT THE PURPOSE OF THE SPECIAL MEETING WAS TO HAVE A FIRST READING
ON AN ORDINANCE AMENDING O-81-25/COMPREHENSIVE LAND USE PLAN "SEBASTIAN LAKES" AND ALSO A FIRST
READING ON AN ORDINANCE AMENDING 202/ZONING ORDINANCE "SEBASTIAN LAKES"; ALSO TO SCREEN APPLICA-
TIONS FOR THE POSITION OF CITY ATTORNEY AND FOR FINANCE DIRECTOR AND ESTABLISH DATES FOR INTER-
VIEWS.
MAYOR GALLAGHER STATED THAT IT HAS COME TO HIS ATTENTION THAT SINCE APRIL 25, THREE MEMBERS OF
THE CITY COUNCIL ARE IN VIOLATION OF THE CITY CHARTER SECTION 2.07.
SINCE MR. DARRELL MCQUEEN, LLOYD AND ASSOCIATES, HAD NOT YET ARRIVED AT THE MEETING TO DISCUSS
THE ABOVE ORDINANCES, THE COUNCIL WNET ON TO SCREEN APPLICANTS FOR THE POSITION OF CITY ATTORNEY.

VICE MAYOR MCKINLEY ASKED FOR USGGESTIONS FROM THE COUNCIL AS TO A DATE FOR THE INTERVIEWS.
MOTION BY COUNCILWOMAN ADAMS, SECONDED BY COUNCILMAN FITZMAURICE, TO HOLD THE INTERVIEWS ON FRIDAY,
JUNE 8, 1984, AT 4:00 P.M.
MOTION CARRIED.
WHILE THE COUNCIL WAS IN THE PROCESS OF DETERMINING WHICH APPLICANTS THEY WISHED TO CONSIDER
FOR THE POSITION OF FINANCE DIRECTOR, MAYOR GALLAGHER AND COUNCILWOMAN KEENAN RETURNED AND
MAYOR GALLAGHER RE-CONVENED THE MEETING. COUNCILMAN FITZMAURICE INFORMED HIM THAT ATTORNEY
PALMER HAD RULED THAT THE SUSPENSION WAS NOT PROPER AND LEGAL AND HE AND COUNCILWOMAN KEENAN WERE
INFORMED OF WHAT HAD TRANSPIRED IN THEIR ABSENCE. SIX APPLICANTS OUT OF TWENTY THREE WERE SELECTED.
