Those present were Mayor Rohme, President Sembler, Councilman DeCristofaro, Councilman Baxter, Councilman Nash, and Councilman Finnegan. Councilman Baxter expressed a word of thanks to Mrs. Ramona Vickers for composing letter for Cemetery Committee. Councilman Nash moved that check be written in the amount of $144.00 for bulldozer and labor in City dump. Seconded by Councilman DeCristofaro. Carried. Councilman Baxter moved that a check be written in the amount of $1,317.3S, payable to Indian River County Commissioner for Civil Defense Truck. C~_~f~~this amount to be reimbursed to General Fund by Tire Dept. Seconded by Councilman DeCristofaro. Carried. Councilman Baxter moved that Ken Atha handle insurance on Civil Defense Emergency Truck. Seconded by Councilman Finnegan. Carried. Agreed by Council that emergency vehicle be covered by $50,000.00 to $100,000.00 liability insurance, and $50.00 deductable comprehensive' insurance with extended coverage. President Sembler recommended that Councilman Nash be on committee with Councilman Baxter, Chairman of Civil Defense Committee, to discuss with Ken Atha to see if he had any recommendations other than had been approved by the Council. Police Chief, J. G. Brock, Jr.s resignation to be effective as of June l, 1961 was read.;~.~ h~.~'.'~i~~ ~-,h~,'~,~ ~?~.~-~ Councilman Baxter moved that Chief Brock's resignation be accepted with regret. Seconded by Councilman Nash. Carried. Letter read from Citizen's Zoning Committee stating that three appointees were not able to attend meetings. President Sembler recommended that we have notification of resignations of appointees, then Committee name others to be ~approve~ ~ by the Council. City Clerk to help Zoning Committee with legal descriptions and addresses. President Sembler ap~ointed Councilman Baxter,~H.Strickland & Street Inspector Rex Hailey to check driveways and get the Oity Attorneys opinion of recommended change in Driveway Ordinance. President Sembler recommended that Lloyd & Associates survey property traded by City to 0. G. Loudermilk, to verify lines, and put in permanient markers. City Clerk to notify City Engineer. Mayor Rohme instructed Street Dept. to pick up all debree in City Limits, in accord with recommendation of Insurance Co. Councilman Baxter moved to adjourn. Councilman Finnegan.
