May 25th, 1931
The Meeting was called to order at 8:00 o'clock p.m., by the Chairr~an.
The roll was called and the following were present:
Mayor Geo. T. Badger
Councilmen W.A. Martin, Pres
R. G. Hardee
T. B. Hicks
L. 0. Baughman
Clerk Lenora K. Park
Attorney W.A. Merriman (Jamest T. Vocelle)
Councilman Park was absent.
The minutes of the regular meeting of May llth were read and approved.
The Attorney was instructed to prepare an ordinance regulating the operation of
automobiles also regulating the driving, parking and loading limit of motor
vehicles.
Councilman Hicks r~oved that no motor vehicle or other vehicles be operated on
Louisiana Avenue in the City of Sebastian with a load in excess of two tons in
weight; which was seconded by Councilman Hardee and carried by the following
vote: Ayes: Councilmen Hicks, Hardee, Baughman and Martin.
Nay s: None.
Councilman Baugkman asked that an investigation be made regarding the occupational
licenses of transfer trucks.
The Clerk was instructed to write the L. & L. Transfer service and the C.qast
to Coast Company regarding the way their trucks are bein~o parked in the ~Ity.
It was suggested that parking lines be marked off on Main Street between the
Dixie Highway and the Florida East Coast Railway; also that board signs be
repainted. H. E. Ashburner was to get the necessary infor~s_tlon. The paving
stop signs to be repainted are as follows: i Dixie and Fellsmere Boulevard,
i Washington Place and Dixie, I Main Street and Dixie, i Letchworths Garage and
First, 1 First Street and Central Avenue, 1 North Central and Main, 1 Sou~h
Central and Main, 2 Fellsmere Boulevard and South Central.
MOTION: made by Councilman Hicks, seconded by Councilman Hardee, that Council
adjourn to meet again at 8:00 o'clock p.m.,, Friday M~ay 29th, 1931.
Motion carried.
