Those Present were l~layor Shaffer,Presldent Sweatt,Councilmen Ellingsen Dahlstrom and Nash.Councilman S~mbler aOsent.J.T.Vocelle City attorney present. There being no corrections of the last meeting minutes,they were approved as read.. Bills amounting to ~338.10 approved by the Finance Committee were ordered paid on me, ion 0y Councilman Ellingsen ~nd seconded Oy ~ou~cil~n Nash. On advice of the City ~ttorney J.T.Vocelle Councilm~n Ellingsen moved that all the new 0ends the City had bought up from the 1950 issue be cancelled,and said motion seconded by'~ouncilman Oahlstrom. Carried. There 'being no new business or Co~mnittee reports Councilm-~n Nash moved to adjourn which was secon~.~ed by Councilman Ellinoeen Clerk Hegular Meeting May 26,1952 ~res. CoUncil Meeting Called to order by President Sweatt Those present were Mayor Shaffer,Premi,dent Sweatt,Councilmen Seni~ler,Dahlstrom and Nash. Councilman absent. Under Committee reports Councilman told the ~ouncll that the ~'ire Truck blew out a tire and they had to get another tire to replace the one blown. Councilman Sem~r reported that parts for the mower cost more than the ¥ 25.00 allowance but it was due to the raise in the price in parts since the last time the same parts were purchased. Minutes of the last meeting were.~ approved as read. The Council authorized a building permit for Dave Titus on motion by Councilman Sembler which was seconded by ~ouncilman Dahlstrom. Paul R.Stevenson asked permission to build a dock on City. Property on Indian river opposite lot 13 in Block 5 which is property owned by ~.~r Stevenson. It was moved 'by Councilman Sembler and seconded by Councilman Nash that Mr Stevenson ~o allowed to build said dock and in as much as it is to be a public dock for fishing that the -~ttorney draw up an agreement whereby the City of Sebastian would not be held liable for any accident or any othercause that might reflect on the City that might cause an expense. Bill for $4.50 presented by ~'lrs Adams for furnishing six meals ~o prisoner was un lm~ seconded 0y Councilman 3ahlstrom. authorized to be paid on mo~ion oy ?~em~_er~n and A letter from North Indian River Chamber of Contmerce was read to the Council as~in~ for support in form of don~'~tion and on 'motion by Councilman D~hlstrom which was seconded ~y Councilman Sembler said letter was tabled. The Clerk was instructed to write a letter to Dry,Kelso Director oi' health unit asking what can 'be done,and informing him of the complaints ~bout fish that had been deposited in the river and washed ashore causing an ol~fensive odor,an~ also to secure information if it was contrary to sanitary rules for an agency iau~mry ~ '~ in the same building and room where the public is served ice cream and said dirty laundry being brought in from the public ~ ~'~° ~'~ ~ ,~ou~cilm~u Sembler that after May 26,1952 that any City' employee will have to work one year before being granted a vacation,saa~ ~o~_i~ seconded by Councilman Nash.
