Meeting cal. led to order by President Sweatt.
Those answering roll call were ,Mayor Middleton,President Sweatt and Coulcilmen
Semb~er,Ellingsen,Shaffer and Dahlstrom. Mr v ocelle City Attorney also present.
Minutes of the last meeting were read and apprOved.
Bills to the amount of ~894.1~ approved by the finance committee were ordered paid
on motion 'b~ Councilman Dahlstrom which was seconded by uouncilman Ellingsen. Carried.
The 'following resolution was introduced by Councilman SEMBLER who moved its adoption.
WHEREAS the City of Sebastian did issue certain refunding bonds known as the City of
Sebastian Refunding Issue of 19~9, and
WHEREAS there has now been accumulated in the hands of the Oity ~lerk of said ~ity
the said 1939 refunding bonds which have again been refunded by the 1950 issue of refunding
bonds and
WM~EAS there has also been accumulated in the hands of the ~lty clerk of said City,
certain other bonds and intrest coupons from bonds of said City which have been paid or
refunded, and
WH~ such accumulation of bonds and intrest coupons has occasioned an unnecessary
burden on the available filing apace;
THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED by the City ~ouncil of the City of Sebastian,Florida,that
the City clerk of said City be and he is hereby authorized,empowered and directed,in the
presence of the Mayor of said ~lty,and in the presence of the President of the City Council,
to destroy by burning,all of said bonds and lntrest coupons of said City,now in h~e hands and
which are no longer outstanding obligations of said City.
The foregoing Resolution was duly seconded and upon being put to vote it was adopted
as follows:
AYES: Sembler,Shaffer,~llingsen,Dahlstro~ and Sweatt
NAYS: None
The following resolution was introduced by councilman Ellingsen who moved its adoption.
WHEREAS ~ohn Mays has offered to purchase of and from the City of Sehastian,~'lorida,at
a consideration od $230.00 for the following described property,to-wit:
Lots 5 and 6 in Block 4,Section 6,~ownshlp 51 East,Hange 59 South in School Park Subdiv
vision as in plat 2 page 29,Indian Hiver County records,~lerk of the Circuit Court
and
EHEREAS, said property is not held by said ~ity for any Public or Municipal purpose and
is property which has been acquired by ~he City for the non-payment of its liens thereon and
is held for sale; and said consideration offered to be paid for said property being not less
than the fair value thereof; and it being for the best lntrest of this ~lty so to do; therefore
nesolved,that the City of Sebastian sell to the purchaser aforsaid the property described
and at the consideration thereinbefore stated, and that the Mayor and City Clerk of said ~ity
arevauthorized to execute,acknowledge and seal with the City Seal deed of conveyance of said
property to said purchaser upon receipt by the City of the full consideration to be paid
therefore as above stated.The foregoing resolution was duly seconded and upon being put to a
vote it was adopted as follows:
AYES: Sembler,Shaffer,Ellingsen,Oahls~rom and Sweatt

Property owners of lands formerly within the old City limits and their Attorney were
present at meeting to hear what d~cislon was reached as to~the assessing said properties
It was moved by Councilman Sembler and seconded b~ ~ouncllman mllingsen to pospone said
decision until our next regular meeting of July 9,1951.
Attorney D.C.Smlth presented the ~ity ~ouncil with a written protest signed by the owners
of said lands and asked to be notified if the date should be changed before the 9th.day of
Yuly.
Mf Hoskins pepresentative of the ~'lorlda Power and Light ¢o presented the City with a
new contract to sign but ~1~#~$1~~~ the Council agreed to hold it over for the
next meeting so as to give the light committee time to study .same.
The Clt~ Council after careful study of five applications for the position of Marshall
or ~hief of Police for the City of Srbastian agreed to employ mdward T.Blomquist for a period
of 60 days at $200.00 per month,said apointmant was made on motion by Councilman Shaffer which
was seconded by Uouncilman Sembler.Oarried.
It was moved by Oouncllman Shaffer an~ seconded by Oouncilman Sembler that the Clerk
secure prices on 9.S.Flag and a fflorida State Flag for the City Hall.Carried.
There being no more business meeting adjourned.
