Heeting was called to order by President Sembler. Those present were
Mayor Rohme, Councilmen Pinnegan, Nash, Brehmer, and Baxter. City Attorney
Vocelle was also present.
Minutes of the regular meeting of May 9 and May 23 were approved as read.
Clerk read a letter of resig~nation of George E. Thornton~ else a
letter from attorney Vocelle to Congressman Rogers in reference to the release
of an emergency clause in the dee~ from the Pederal Government to the City of
Sebastian of the Seba "~ian Municipal Airport.
Councilman B~xter reported meeting with Jim Hather of the State Road
Dept. in reference to drainage on north U. S. #1 being dumped on private property.
Clerk was inst~.~cted at this meeting to contact the Pt. Leuderdale office of
the State Road Dept. on this matter.
Clerk re,~d ~ letter from the Southern Bell Telephone and Telegraph Co.
requesting permission to place buried cable along State Road #5 beginning at
a point 305 ft. South of St. Road #512 and extending south to the city limits.
The City Council goncurred with this plan providing Southern ~ell Telephone and
T!elgraph Co. repair any damage to the city streets.
Councilman ~innegan introd~ced an Ordinance ~ntitled "A~ ORDINANCE
RELATING TO THE PORPEITURE 0P VEt{ICLES, VESSELS OR COi,F~EYA~CES TO THE CITY
0~ SEBA~TI~ WHEREIN SAID VEHIC[LES VESSELS OR CO~YANCES ARE USED IN T~
VIOLATION OF ST~TE [5~ AND SUBJECT TO ~ORP~ITI/R.~E UND~i~-~I TiTE PROVISIONS
STATE LAW."
Councilman Baxter mede a motion to read said ordinance first time in
full. Second by Councilman Nash. Voting was as follows:
Ayes: President Sembler, Councilmen ~innegan, Nash~ Brehmer~ ~axter.
Nays: None.
Councilman Baxter made a n',tion to read said ordinance second time by
title only. Second by Councilman Nash. Voting was as follow:
Ayes: President Sembler, Councilmen ~inneg~n, Nash, Brehmer, Baxter.
Nays: None,
Councilman Baxter mad6 a motion to read ordinance third time by title
only and be placed upon its final pas,?~age.
Ayes: President Sembler, Councilmen Pinnegan, Nash$ Brehmer, Baxter.
Nays: None.
Thereupon said ordinance having receive4 the affirmative vote of three-fifths
of all members of the Council, was declared duly adopted and upon being
presented to 'the Mayor and having received his approval was numbered as
Chapter Number 183 of the 0~dinance of said City and was thereupon duly posted
et the door of the City ~{all of the city of Sebastian in accordance with
provisions of Section 85 of Chapter 16683 of the laws of Plorida, being'
Che~ter of s~id City.
Councilman. Pinne~an introduced an ordinance entitled "AN 0RDINA~{CE

Councilman Baxter made a motion to read said ordinance first time in
full. Second by Councilman Bre~er. After much discussi'on, ordinance was
postponed to the next reg~.~lar meeting of the City

Co~nacilman B'"~xter made a motion to accept the above hamed'~.~an~s.a~
lending agency. Second by Councilman Brehmer and carried.
The Airport Committee was given authority by the City Council to proceed
with the necessary work to determine the taxable property located within the
Municipal Airport properties.

Councilman Baxter repl~rted that plans for a house-numbering system
has not yet been completed.
Mayor Rohme reported to the Council that there w~s no phone listed to
the Police Dept. in the City of Seba~tian Telephone Directory. Council
requested the listing of the Police Dept. on the ~ity Hall phone n~mber.
Mayor Rohme requested license be granted free of charge for vending
machines located in the SebaStian Area Youth Center. Council approved this
red,est.
Bills amounting to S1787.92 were ap?rove~ by the Finance Committee and
authorized to be paid on a motion by ~ouncilman Mash and seconded by
Co~znci!man Brehmer and carried.
Cotmcilman Baxter reported that he had informed the street dept. to
remove a sign advertising"Drag Races" located at the intersection of St. Rd.
#512 and U. S. #1.
Councilman Pinnegan made a motion to adjourn, second by Councilman Mash.
