Minutes of the last meeting were approved as corrected.
Bills amounting to $ 222.11 approved by the finance committee were authorized to 'be paid
on motion by Oouncilman ~llingsen a~d seconded 'by Councilman Ches~e,r.
Resolution of thanks ~o ~r G.L.Sweatt read by the Clerk was accepted on motion by Oouncil~n
Ellingsen and seconded by councilman ohaesser.carried.
Resolution to the Florida motor Court Association was accepted on Motion by Councilman Uhesser
and seconded by Councilman ~llingsen. Carried. ~
No definate report on location for Pelican Island Signs was made.

Do'the condition of the city 't~mp which was reported by ~ouncilman Chesser three sacks of lime
were authorized to be purchased to remedy the unsanitary conditions of dump.
~ayor Shaffer also spoke on the conditions of the dump and told the Oouncil he would have
Chief Adams notify the children and the ~arents of ~he children to stay away from the dump
on account of the chances of contracting polio germs and others.
It was moved 0y Councilraan Ohesser and seconded by ~ouncilman ~liingsen that the ulerk send
letter to mr ~.E.Carter requesting the ~ity oump be re ditched and thencovered over Wl~h
dirt taken from the new ditch.Carried.
The new Ordinauce was discussed and ~,~yo: Shaffer told the Oouncil that he would see that ~r
Owens was notified about the ~rdinance perhibiting the removal of sand from his lot which he
owens in Ocean ~reeze Subdivision..

for the last three and one half years,and
~HEREAS: The ~ayor and members of the City Council do recognize the time and
effort ~r Sweatt has put forth serving the Citizens of the City of Sebastian,
THEREFORE: Be it resolved that the ~or and members of ~he City Council do
extend their thanks and appreciation to ~r Sweatt for his outstanding service
to ~he City of Sebastian,Florida.
Florida ~iotor Court Association ~esolution.
WH~EAS: The ~'lorida ~otor Court Association,representing over five thousand
establishments of ninety thousand units with investments of five million dollars
in the Stat e of ~'lorida,and
WHEREAS: The ~'lorida ~otor court Association has become recognized by law as
spokeman for the industry,and '
WHEREAS: The Florida ~otor Court Association being and is what is the voice of
the Motor Court industry,and stands for the betterment of conditions both local
and State wide.
'i~EREFORE: be it resolved that the Ms, or and members of the City Council of the
City of Sebastian,~lorida, do recognize the ~'lorida m~otor Court Association as
an Organization that can thru it's efforts and cooperation with the City Officials
benifit the welfare of our City and community.
The above resolutions passed and adopted by the City Council at their regular meet~
lng of June28,1954.
