Vi ckers Councilmen: Middle,on, Hardee,Shaw, Tlllis Clerk: Yeane S. Elender Councilman Smith was absent. The minutes of the Regular meeting of June 6th were re~d and approved as read. The minutes were then read of the Special meeting of June 16th and ap- proved as read. An ordinance for the sale of liquor d~ring certain hours on Sunday within the City of Sebastian was read for the first time by the City Clerk, as drawn up by Attorney Mitchell. The ordinance is as follows by titls: CHAPTER NO. ~ AN ORDINANCE REGULATING I~.,E HOURS OF ,SALE,, OF ALCOHOLIC BEVERAGES ON SUN- DAY WITHIN THE CORPORATE LIMITS OF THE CITY OF SEBaSTiAN,; ·.FLORIDA, AND' PRO" HIBIT~NG SALE OF ALCOHOLIC BEVERAGES WITH TN SAID CITY BETW.EE~ CERTAIN HOURS ON SUNDAY; PROVIDING PENALTIES FOR T~HE ?I~ATiON $tEREOF' SE IT ORDAINED BY THE MAYOR AND THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SEBASTIAN, FLORID_~: Section'l..Alcoholic beverages my be sold within the City of Sebastian, Florida, and service thereof made az:d consumption, thereof permitted between the hours of 12 o'clock mldnlgh~ Saturday and 1 o,clock A.M. Sunday next suc- ceeding in each weeks and between the hours of 1 o'clock P.M. and 7 o'clock P.M. on Sunday in each week. It .shall be unlawful to sell alcoholic beverages or to serve the same in any public place or permit the consumption thereof in any public place on Sunday of each week within the City of Sebastian, Florida, between the hours of 1 o'clock A.M. and 1 o'clock ?.w.. and between the hours of 7 o'clock P.M. and 12 o'clock midnight. Seet. lon"!'!2. ~y person violating any provlsien of this ordinance shall upon conviction thereof be punished by fine not exceeding $500.00 or by im- prisonment for a period of not more than sixty days or by both such fine and imprisonment in the discretion of the court, trying the offender. Section 3. Ail ordinances and partm of ordinances in conflict herewith are hereby repealed. Sect~lon 4. This ordinance shall be in full force and effect immediately upon its passage and approval by the Mayor or by its becoming a law without such approval. The ordinance was read for the first time in full. A motion was made by Councilman Shaw and seconded by Councilman Tillis tl~t the first reading of the ordinance b~ accepted as read, and that the ordinance be filed until the next meeting, special or otherwise, when a committee shall report on other liquor males regulations in the county. The motion was carried unan imou sly. President Niddle~on then appointed a committee for the purpose described above, consisting of: Councilman Shaw, Chairman " Tillis " Hardee A motion was made ~y Councilman Shaw and seconded by Councilman Tillis, that the Council accept the 1944 assessment of Southern Bell Telephone Co. proper~y in the City of .Sebastian. The motion was carried. A motion was made by Councilman Shaw and seconded by Councilman Tillis tha~ Mr. L. F. Chesser be no~ified that the Sebastian Municipal Airport should be kept open for the use of the C.A.A., and the present fencing on that proper- ty should be removed. The motion was carried. A motion was made by Councilman Shaw and seconded by Counc~.lman Tillis. that the Flamingo Truck Line. be notified that they should remove their freight depot from City property in the City of Sebastian, Florida at their earliest convenience. The motion was carried. A motion was made by COUncilman Shaw and s~conded by Councilman l~lllis that the meeting ~dJourn. Motion carried and the meetl~ng was ad$ourned. Council Pres. City Clerk
