The roll Was Called and a quorem not being the meeting was the~adJourned to July 19, 1937 at 7.30 o'clock P.M. and public announcement of such adjournment thereupon made. - Clerk Adjourned Regula? Meeting July ~9, 1937. Meeting was called to otter oy Chairman pro tom, the roll called with the following members present: Mayor Badger. Councilmen: Vlckers, Brown. Murdock, and later Bau~hman. Arty: Mitchell. Minutes of June 7, were read and adopted. Motion made by Councilman Murdock that Clerk be authorized to pay W. J. Thornton $2.00 per month on street light at hotel. Sec. Councilman Brow~. Carried. Motion made by Councilman Murdock that Clerk be authorized to pay $§.00 per month to mrs Hob Park to keep.up school grounds. Sec. Councilman Brown. Carried. Motion made by. Coungllman Bau~hman that rent on store ~uil~lng~ be.l~.00 per month from~ay i to ~ov~. m and 20.00 per momth from Nov. to may ~. uarrlec. City tax Assessor, F.G. Hamrick, presented tax assessment roll for ~he City of ~l~s Sebastian. Florida~ for the year 1937, and the same was filed before the City Council sit~lng as an eeualization board; there was present and filed a proof of publication of notice that the City Council would sit on July 5, 1937, for the purpose of hearin~ complaints relative to and equalizing and correcting t~e tax assessment ~oll, which notice and proof of publication thereof is as follows:(See proof on file) .And which meeting July 5, 1937 was on said date duly adjourned to 7.30 o'clock P.M. July 19, 1937. The following resolution was introduced by Councilman Murdock: Resolution i~ ~ Whereas, i~ appears that due and legal notice that the City Council of the City of Sebastian, Florida, ~ould meet on the fifth day of July, 1937, at 7:30 o'clock p.m., for the purpose of ~qualizing and correcting the tax assessment roll of said city for the year 1937, has Oeen given, and Whereas, the City Council did meet at said time for said purpose, and did thereupon duly adjourn said men, ting ~o 7:30 o'clock p.m., July 19, 1937 and said Council did th thereupon meet on said date, and Whereas, all objections made to the said assessment roll have been duly considered, ~cted upon ~y the City ~ouncil, ~nd said assessment roll corrected, e~u~lined aud adjusted fairly and ecui~ably in the ~u~gment of ~his council; and the said Council having not found it necessary to r asise the amount of the assessments appearing on said assessment roll; and, ~ Whereas, it appears to the City Council of the City of Sebastian, Floride, that said assessment roll is now correct and the valuation thereof ecual, correct and Just and that there are no further deductions or increases necessary; therefore, be it Resolved by the City Council of the Citybof Sebastian, Florida~ that the tax assessment roll for said city for the year 1937, as prepared and presente~ to this Council and by it equalized and corrected, be, and the same is, hereby approved and confirmed. The adoption of. said resolution, being moved by Councilman Murdock, seconded bY CounciLman Brown and the roll being called thereon, ~he same was adopted bythe Following vote: Ayes: Vickers, Bau~hman, Murdock, Brown. Nays: None. Councilman Baughman introduced the following resolution and moved its adoption: ~ Resolution ~ ~ Whereas, it appears from an examination and revision of the registration books of said City that the n~mes of the following named persons should be erased from the registration books of said city,~herefore, Be it resolved ~a~ by the City Council of the City of Sebastian, Florida,. ~hat the names of the persons hereinafter set forth shall be, and the same are, hereby s~ricken from the names of the registered voters of said city for the reasons hereinafter set forth towlt: S. H. Gamble~ Deceased,Mrs Gladys Ha~an-- Removed., E. A. Hagan-- Removed., Jack Van Antwerp-- Removed. R. G. Anderson-- Removed...~s A. P. Baughman-- Removed., Myrtice B. Martin --Removed'., Albert Schuman-- Decease~ Be It Further Resolved that a copy of this resolution be, and the same shall be, posted aththe city hall of said City, and any or all persons whose name shall have been wrongfully or erroneously erased or stricken from said list, and who shall on or before the first meeting of the City Council in ~ugust 1937, which meeting will be held on the End day of August 1937, make such fact appear to the satisfaction of the City Council, ~ shall be entitled to have his or her name restored to the said registration books. Resolution was duly seconded and upon roll c~ll w~s adopted ~x~x as follows: Ayes: Vickers, Naughman. Murdock, Brown. Nays: N~ne, Councilman Murdock Moved to ad~ourn ~Seconded by ~ouncilman Brown.
