Minutes of June 8 were re~d and adopted.
City Tax Assessor F. G. Hamrick, presented tax assessment roll for the City of
Sebastian, Florida,. for. the year 1936, and the same w&s filed before the City
Coun~l sitting as an e~ua~atton Board; thereQ was ~resented and filed a proof
of publ-lcation of notice ~ha$ the Council would sit on July 6, 19~6 for the purpose
of hearing complaints relative to and equalizing and correcting the tax assessment
.roll, which notice and proof of publication is. as follows: (see Proof)
The following resolution'was intr&duc~d by Councilman Vickers:
Re a~lut ion
~ereas, i~ appears ~hat due andlegal notice tha~ the City Council of the City
of Sebastian, Florida, would mee~ on the 6 day of July 1936, for the purpose of
e~ualizing and correcting the tax assessment ~ll of said City for the year 19~6,
has been given, and whereas , the City Council did meet at said time for said
purpose, and did thereupon duly adjourn said meeting for said purpose to 8 o'clock
p.m. July 15, 1936 ~omnd~d~h~pon mee~ at 8 o'clock p.m. July 13, 1956 for
said purpose and did thereupon adjourn to meet for maid purpode at the hour of 8
o'clock p.m. July 20. 1936, and whereas ~he City Com~cil, pursuant t? such
adJour~ents did meet at 8 o'clock July 20, 1936 and. did r&ceive saia tax assessment
roll for ~he year 1936 from ~he City T~x assessor, and
~ereas, all objection made to said assessment roll have been duly considered, voted
upon by this Council, and said assessment roll. corrected, ecuallzed and adjusted
fairly and equitably in the jud~en~ of this Council; and the said Council having
not found it necessary ~o raise the amoun~ of the assessments appearing on said
assessmen~ roll, and
Whereas, i~ appears to the City Council of the City of Sebastian, Florida, ~hat
said assessmen$ roll i~ now correct and %he valuation thereof eeual., correct and
Just and that t~.ere are no further deductions or increases necessary; therefore be
Resolved, by the Ol~y Council of the Cl~y of Sebastian, Florida, ~hat ~he ~ax
assessment roll for sald~Gity for the year 1936, as pEepared and presented to this
Council and by it eeualized and corrected, be, and th~ same is, hereby approved
and confl~ed.
S~i~ resolution was duly seconded by Council~n Bashan and up on being pu~ to
a vote was adopted as follows: Ayes, Hardee, Vickers,.Baug~n, ~{ays. Nays: NONE.
Councl~an Vlckers moved to reduce beer ~ieense from ~7.50 to ~2.50. Seconded
by Cou$ci~an Baug~n. Carried.
Council~n Vickers introduced an ordinance entitled; An Ordinance to License
certain ~ypes of Coin Operated Devices; ~o Re,late She 0pera~ion Thereof; ~o
~signa~e the penalties for the vlola~ion of the ~rOvisions of this ~rdinance;
to define types of Coin Operated ~vices. and moved tha~ it be read for the first
time tn full. Motion seconded by Councilman Baug~n and carried. Ordinance was
read in full whereupon Council~n Daug~n moved i~ be read ~he .second time by
title only. Motion seconded by Counci~n ~ys. Carried. Ordinance wa~ read by
ti$1e whereupon Councilman Baug~an moved it be read the 3rd time by title and
pu~ upon i~s passage. Motion seconded by Counci!~an Ylckers. Carried. Ordinance
was read 3rd time by ~itle and upon roll call w~s adopted as follows: Ayes:
Hardee, Vlckers, Bau~n, M~ys. N, MS: None.
Council~n Baug~an moved that the re~lar meeting night be the first ~onday In
each month in lieu of ~he 2nd. Motion seconded by Council~n Vlckers. Carried.
Councilman Vickers moved that State ~J, County taxes be paid on lo~s ~,4, 5 & 6
