AMENDING ORDINANCE #2-73 ANNEXING THE SO-CALLED KEPPL~R PROPERTY BY EXCLUDING THEREFROM O. 253 ACRES
OF JANE C. WARD & MARY CLARE WARD. MAYOR CRAGG ASKED FOR COMMENTS FOR OR AGAINST THE SAID ORDINANCE.
THERE BEING NO COMMENTS THE PUBLIC HEARING WAS ADJOURNED.

PRESENT: VICE-MAYOR YATES, COUNCILMEN KINARD, HOOSE AND MAYOR CRAGG.
MINUTES OF PUBLIC HEARING AND REGULAR COUNCIL MEETING OF JUNE lOth WERE APPROVED AND ACCEPTED.
MINUTES OF SPECIAL MEETING OF JULY 1st ON THE "201 PLAN" WERE ACCEPTED WITH ONE CORRECTION MADE
BY MAYOR CRAGG.
MOTION BY VICE-MAYOR YATES TO PAY JUNE BILLS IN THE AMOUNT OF $6,307.09. SECONDED BY COUNCILMAN
KINARD. CARRIED.
VICE-MAYOR YATES GAVE A FEW COMMENTS ON THE OPEN HOUSE HELD SUNDAY, JULY 7th FOR THE NEWLY REMODELED
OFFICES IN CITY HALL AND ALSO STATED THAT NORTH LOUISIANA AVENUE AND A FEW OTHER STREETS HAD BEEN
PAVED AND ROAD PATCHING DONE THROUGHOUT THE CITY.
THE BUILDING INSPECTORS REPORT FOR JUNE SHOWED THREE SINGLE FAMILY RESIDENCES TOTALING $63,000 AMD
ADDITIONS OF $4,950, MAKING A MONTHLY TOTAL OF $67,950.
FORMER MAYOR CHARLES ZIMMER AND MRS. ZIMMER HAD BEEN I~'SERIOUS

ANNOUNCED
THAT
ACCIDENT IN GREENSBORO, NORTH CAROLINA, WHILE TRAVELING NORTH ON THEIR VACATION. DETAILS OF THE
ACCIDENT WERE NOT KNOWN AT THIS TIME BUT HE WILL CHECK FURTHER TOMORROW TO SEE IF MOHE INFORMATION
IS AVAILABLE.
MAYOR CRAGG MENTIONED THAT MR. C. B. McCOLLUM WAS THE ACTING BUILDING INSPECTOR WHILE CARL SWANSON,
OUR REGULAR INSPECTOR, WAS ON VACATION FOR THE NEXT 4-6 WEEKS.
IN THE FIFTEEN MINUTES FOR THE PUBLIC, MR. WALTER PHELAN RECOMMENDED THAT SINCE COLONEL A. T. JORDAN,
FORMER CITY CLERK, HAD RENDERED VARIOUS OUTSTANDING SERVICES TO THE CITY OF SEBASTIAN, INCLUDING
SERVICE AS THE CITY CLERK, THAT THE COUNCIL CONSIDER NAMING THE PARK AREA ADJACENT TO THE CITY HALL
AND THE PUBLIC PARK AREA EXTENDING ALONG THE INDIAN RIVER, THE COLONEL A. T. JORDAN PARK. COUNCIL
ALL AGREED WITH THIS AND MR. VOCELLE, CITY ATTORNEY, WAS AS~KED TO DRAW UP A RESOLUTION STATING
THESE FACTS SO THAT COUNCIL COULD TAKE IMMEDIATE ACTION ON THIS TONIGHT.
VICE-MAYOR YATES DISCUSSED THE FLYING OF THE FLAGS ALONG THE MEDIAN STRIPS IN THE CITY ON LEGAL
HOLIDAYS. THE AMERICAN LEGION HAS OFFERED TO ASSUME THIS RESPONSIBILITY FOR THE UPKEEP AND FLYING
OF THE FLAGS AND THE COUNCIL WAS QUITE PLEASED WITH THIS GENEROUS OFFER.
VICE-MAYOR YATES ALSO REPORTED THAT HE WILL CHECK FURTHER ON SECURING A ROAD SWEEPER FOR THE
LARGE FORD TRACTOR.
MAYOR CRAGG REQUESTED THAT VICE-MAYOR YATES CHECK OUT THE CATCH BASIN AT GILSON AND LANCE STREETS
AS REQUESTED BY GDC HEING THAT THE CITY HAD ACCEPTED THESE STREETS.
