Meeting called to order by President Protem Nosh.
These answering roll call were Mayer Shaffer,President Protem Nosh and Councilmen
Sembler,Ellingsen and Taylor. Councilman Sweatt absent.city Attorney Walker present.
Minutes of the last regular meeting ef June 22nd.and Special meeting ef June 26th.
were read and there beingne cerectiens were approved as read.

with the exceptien of bill for Stre~s from H-E,s Service.
ouilding permit presented 0y Mr Florschutz was passed on motion by Councilman
Sembler and seconded by councilman ,.llingsen.
Building permit presented by l~rs Meta Ghesser was passed on motion by Oeuncllman
~liingsen and seconded by councilman Sembler.
The chair told the Council thatvparties were building and adding additions before
securing building permits and asked the council te be more strict with the building permit
applicatieno.Whereby Councilman Sembler moved that all permit applications be brought
'before the council for consideration,said motion was seconded by ~ouncilman ,;llingsen.
It was moved by Councilman Sembler and seconded by ~ouncilman that the General
~'~ud be reembursed with the ~125.00 hearted te the General ~ltnd from the 0emetery ~lAnd.
'l'he City Ccuncil new acting as Equlizatlen board was presented with the tax roll for

submit the assessment rolls ef said City for the year of 1953 te the City council ef said Ci
0ity at a meeting te be held in the City Hall at Sebastian,f'lorida,at the hour ef ?:S0
P.M. July 13,19SS,and atwhich time and place' said Assessor and City Council will hear
complaints and receive testimony as te the value ef any property,real er personal,as fixed
by the City Assessor of Taxes and for perfecting,reviewing and equaliz&ng the assessment.

Mr Roberts ef the Sebastian Inn appeared before the Equalization Beard and asked
that his taxes be lowered and after some discussion it was pointed out by the beard that
Mr Roberts property was equalized en August 4,1947 te the amount ef reduction ef $2550.00
elf ef the Valuation which amounted te ~76.50 and en general reduction of millage in 1950
a saving ef $~6.70 which totaled amount ef $113.20. The beard disapproved the lowering
ef any valuation,and whereby Councilman ~llingoen introduced an ordinance entitled,
AN ORDINANCE PROVIDING F0H 'I~IE LEVEY OF TAXES IN THE CT~'Y ON SEBASTIAN~FLORIDA
FOR THE YEAR 1953. and moved its~adeptien.

carried,Said erdinance was raed the first time in full. Upon metien by Ceuncilman Ellingsen
and seconded by Councilman Sembler and unanimously carried,said Ordinance was read the second
time by title only; there being ne amendments efferedupen motion by Councilman ,.'llingsen
seconded by Councilman Sembler said ordinance w~s read the hhird time by title only and
placed upon its final passage.. The roll being called upon the final passage ef s&id Ordinance
the result was as follows:
Ayes: Councilman Naoh,Sembler,Ellingsen and Taylor.
Noyes: None.
Thereupon said Ordinance having received an affirmative veto of three-fifths ef all
members ef the Council was declared duly adopted and upon ~being presented te the M~er and
having received his approval was numbered as Chapter 1~6 ef the Ordinances of said City and
was thereupon duly posted at the doer ef the City Hall of the ~ity of Sebastian in accordance
with the previsions of Section 85 ef Chapter 16~$$ cf the laws of ~lorida,belng the 0barter
of said City.
The City Budget amounting te $19,408.00 approved by the ~'imance Committee was accepted
ena motion by Councllmam Elllngsen and seconded ~yvOeuncilman Sembler.carried.
There being ne more business meeting was dul~r adjourned.
