Regular Meeting July 5, 1937.
~eeting was called to order by Chairman . The roll Was Called and a quorem not being
the meeting was then~adJourned to July 19, 1937 at 7.30 o'clock P.M. and public
announcement of such adjournment thereupon made.

Meeting was called to order by Chairman pro-tom, the roll called with the following members
.present: Mayor Badger. Councilmen: rickets, Brown, ~furdock, and later Bau~hman.
Arty: Mitchell.
Minutes of June 7, were read and adopted.
Motion wade by Councilman Murdock that Clerk be authorized to pay W. J. Thornton
$2.00 per month on street light at hotel. Sec. Councilman Brown. Carried.
Motion. made by Councilman Murdock that Clerk be authorized to pay $5.00 ~er month
to mrs Hob Park to keep.up school grounds. Sec. Councilman Brown. Carried.
Motion made by. Coungllman Bau~hman that rent on store ~ulldings be.l~ 00 per month
from~ay i to ~ov... z'and 20.00 per momth from Nov. to may 1. Carrle~
City tax Assessor, F.G. Hamrick, presented tax assessment roll for ~he City of
Sebastian. Florida~ for the year 1937, and the same was filed before the City Council
sitting as an eeuaiization board; there was present and filed a proof of publication
of notice that the City Council would sit on July 5, 1937, for the purpose of hearing
co~plaint~ relative to and equalizing and correcting t~e tax assessment ~oll, which
no~ce cng proof of publication thereof is as follows:(See proof on file)

The following resolution was introduced by Councilman ~urdock:
Resolution I~ ~
Whereas, it appears that due and legal notice that the City Council of the City of
Sebastian, Florida, ~ould meet on the fifth day of July, 1937, at 7:30 o'clock p.m.,
for the purpose of equalizing and correcting the tax assessment roll of said city for
the year 1937, has 0eon given, and
Whereas, the City Council did meet at said time for said purpose, and did thereupon
duly adjourn said me~ing to 7:30 o'clock p.m., July 19, 1937 and said Council did th
thereupon meet on said date, and
Whereas, all o~jections made to the said assessment roll have been duly considered,
~ctcd upon 0y the City Council, ~nd said assessment roll corrected, eoualized ~n.d
adjustod fairly ~nd eeui~ably in the Judgment of this council; and the said Council
having not found it. necessary to r asise the amount of the assessments appearing on
said assessment roll; and,
Whereas, it appears to the City Council of the City of Sebastian, Florida, that said
assessment roll is now correct and the valuation thereof ecual, correct and just and
that there are no further deductions or increases necessary; therefore, be it
Resolved by the City Council of the Citybof Sebastian, Florida, that the tax assessment
roll for said city for the year 1937, as prepared and presented to this Council and
by it equalized and corrected, be, and the same is, hereby approved and confirmed.
The adoption of said resolution, being moved by Councilman Murdock, seconded bY
councilman Brown and the roll being c~lled thereon, ~.he same was adopted byt~e
Following vote: Ayes: Vickers, Bau~hman, Murdock, Brown. Nays: None.
Councilman Baughman introduced the follow%ng resolution and moved it.s adoption:
' Resolution [~
Whereas, it appears'from an examination and revision of the registration books of said
City that the names of the following named persons should 'be erased from the registration
books of said city,'therefore,
Be it resolvec ~m? by the City Council of the City of Sebastian, Florida, that the
names of the persons hereinafter set forth shall be, and the same are, hereby s~ricken
from the names of the registered voters of said city for the reasons hereinafter
set forth towit:

Be It Further Resolved that a copy of this resolution be, and the same shall be, posted
aththe city hall of said City, and any or all persons whose name shall have been
wrongfully or erroneously eraaed or stricken from said list, and who shall on o? before
the first meeting of the City Council in August 1937, which meeting will be held on the
2nd day of August 1937, make such fact appear to the satisfaction of the City Council,
shall be entitled to have his or her name restored to the said registration books.'
Resolution was duly seconded and upon roll c~ll was adopted ~x~x as follows:
Ayes: Vickers, Naughman. Murdock, Brown. Nays: Ngne.
Councilman Murdock Moved to ad~ourn.Seconded by Uouncilman Brown. Carried.
