~eeting called to order by President Protein ~'aylor.
Those present were l¥~yor Shaffer,Fres.Protem Taylor and ~ouncilman Sembler,~llingsen
and Chesser. City Attorney ~alker present.
minutes of the last meeting approved as read.
Bills amounting to $688.~E were approved by the finance committee and authorized to
be paid on motion by Councilman ~embler and seconded by Oouncilman Elllngsen.oarried.
hirs Chesser told the Council that she would contact the rest homes in Veto Beach and
see if Mr LaTrauette could be made comfortable and satisfied with new surroundimgs.
Meeting was opened for equalization of the tax roll which the Clerk presented to the
board was accepted on motion by Councilman Sembler which was seconded by Councilman Elling-
sen and carried.
City budget for the year 1954-55 was accepted on motion by Councilman Sembler and
seconded by Councilman and carried.
~Lr Hadden was present and told -~he Oity Council that the health departmemt had not comp
plated their survey and would report back to the ~ity Council as soon as said survey is
completeA .
Mr W.M.Mc Collough told the ~ouncil ~hat mr Adams wwed him money for services not
rendered and asked the Council for action to be taken against ~M~ Adams if he did not pay.
No action was taken.
President ~rotem Taylor appointed Oouncilman $embler to the finance co~ittee to
with Councilman ~hesser.
There ~eing no more b~slness to come before ~he Oouncll meeting was duly adjourned.

Regular Meeting ~uly 26,1~A.
meeting called to order by Pres. Taylor.
Those present were Mayor Shaffer,oouncilmen ~lor,Ellingsen and Chesser. Councilman
Sembler absent.
Minutes of the last meeting were approved as read.
Two bills approved by the ~'lna~e committee for the amount of $11.~.9 were authorized
to be paid on motion by Councilma~hich was seconded by Councilman Ch~sser.Oarried.
Councilman Cheseer that Mr Latourette was back from the nursing home and that he would
pay for the installing of the septic tank and labor involved,and that Mr Roach was
on the septic tank and would be ready for the fixtures as soon as they are delivered.
Councilman Ellingsen recommended Mr Snowden as Councilman for the unexpired term of
Mr Sweatt and moved that ~r Snowden be accepted,said motion was seconded by Councilman
Chesser and carried.
Councilman Snowden being duly sworn into office by mayor Shaffer was then appointed
as Chairman of the ~ire 0apartment and President Protem of the City Council.
Councilman Ohesser told ~he Council that the neededtwo or three more drums for the
people to deposit trash in after eating their lunch.~ouncilman Snowden said that the City
should have another table also and that he would donate one large drum for the park and
Mr De Vane also donated a drum for the same purpose.
Councilman~also suggested a grill for the park and Councilman Snowden told the Council
that he would faOricate the steel grill if the City woul~ furnish the material for same.
uouncilman Uhesser advised the Council that somthing should be done as to putting
built up curbings $~und the 0amatory lots in the Cemetery which make it hard to mow with
the Oity tractor,i~greed that any changes to be made would be cinsidered and the City
Council would then if agreeable control such changes by 0rdinance~
0ouncilman Snowden suggested a sign be placed on the highway directing strangers to 'the
business section of the town and the chair asked the ~ayor to work on same with Councilman
Snowden which would be taken up at a later dat e~
