THIS SPECIAL MEETING BETWEEN THE CITY COUNCIL AND THE SEBASTIAN CEMETERY ASSOCI-
ATION, INC., WAS CALLED TO ORDER BY MAYOR PAT FLOOD, JR., AT 4:00 P.M.
PRESENT: VICE MAYOR LEWIS GRAY, COUNCILMAN FRANK OBERBECK, MAYOR PAT FLOOD, JR.,
CITY ATTORNEY DANIEL M; KILBRIDE, JR., COUNCILWOMAN DOROTHY McKINLEY, COUNCILMAN
EVERETT GASS.
AFTER CONSULTING WITH MR. KILBRIDE, MAYOR FLOOD SUGGESTED TO MRS. FLORENCE PHELAN,
CITY CLERK, THAT SINCE SHE IS A MEMBER OF SEBASTIAN CEMETERY ASSOCIATION, INC.,
AND TO AVOID ANY CONFLICT OF INTEREST, SHE SHOULD JOIN THE MEMBERS OF THE ASSOCI-
ATION IN THE AUDIENCE AND NOT ACT AS CITY CLERK FOR THIS MEETING. MRS. PHELANAGREED.
MAYOR FLOOD STATED THAT THE FOLLOWING ITEMS SHOULD BE DISCUSSED: 1. THE STONE;
2. THE WORKING RELATIONSHIP BETWEEN THE CITY AND THE ASSOCIATION; 3. A RESOLUTION
BETWEEN THE CITY AND THE ASSOCIATION ALLOWING THEM TO USE THE COMMUNITY CENTER FOR
BINGO GAMES.
FOR THE BENEFIT OF THE PUBLIC, MR. KILBRIDE READ ALL THE CORRESPONDENCE WHICH HAS
PASSED BETWEEN THE CITY, THE ASSOCIATION AND THE ATTORNEYS.
THERE FOLLOWED A VERY LENGTHY DISCUSSION AT THE END OF WHICH MAYOR FLOOD STATED
THAT THE WHOLE POINT OF THIS MEETING WAS TO DETERMINE IF THE COUNCIL WISHED TO
PASS A RESOLUTION PERMITTING THE SEBASTIAN CEMETERY ASSOCIATION TO USE THE
COMMUNITY CENTER FOR BINGO GAMES. HE ADDED THAT HE WAS AGREEABLE TO PERMITTING
THIS UNTIL SUCH TIME AS THE ASSOCIATION WOULD SET UP A MEETING WITH THEIR ATTORNEY

UNTIL SUCH TIME AS THE MATTER IS RzSOLVED. COUUCILWOM~N/McKILNEY WAS OF THE OPINION
IT STIPULATED THAT IF THEY ARE GOI~_~E~ THE 1TAME OF T~E SEBASTIAN CEMETERY ASSOCI-
ATION, INC., THE MONEY HAS TO BE SPENT FOR--THE ~METERY. MOTION DIED FOR LACK OF
A SECOND.
CEMETERY ASSOCIATION, INC., BE ALLOWED TO USE rH~ ~MMUNITY CENTER ON THE SAME BASIS
THAT THEY HAVE BEEN USING IT UNTIL SEPTENBFR 1, ']N~SS WE CAN SOLVE THE PROBLEM
THROUGH THE ATTORNEYS CONFERRING. MAYOR' ~LOOD/ S']G~ESTED THAT TIME BE EXTENDED TO
60 DAYS. HE EXPECTS TO BE ON VACATION AN',THI, S EX-T~NSION OF TIME WILL ALLOW HIM
A CHANCE TO CONFER WITH THE ATTORNEYS. COUNCILWOMAN MCKINLEY WITHDREW HER SECOND.

NAYS: NONE. CARRIED.
MOTION BY VICE MAYOR GRAY, SECONDED BY COUNCILWOMAN MCKINLEY, TO AUTHORIZE
MAYOR FLOOD TO MEET WITH MR. JOACHIm, THE ATTORNEY FOR THE SEBASTIAN CEMETERY
ASSOCIATION, AND THE CITY ATTORNEY. CARRIED.
MAYOR FLOOD STATED THAT THE CITY WILL ASSUME THE RESPONSIBILITY FOR THE MEMORIAL
STONE AND HE WILL DISCUSS THIS WITH MERIT MONUMENT COMPANY AND BRING BACK A REPORT.
