Meetin~ of City Council was held with the following present:
MaYor Shafor, Clerk O'Neal, Councilmen ~ohannon, Sembler,
Middleton, Smith and Turlington. Minutes of July 8th meeting
were read and approved.
Bill of R. E. Turlington - $11.02 - was ordered paid and
charged to Fine and Forfeiture Fund.
Motion made by Sembler, seconded by Smith, that bill of
Cruze and Pinson Contractors, Veto Beach, Fla. in the amount of
$533.50 be paid.
Motion made by Smith seconded by Sembler that Mr. Bohannon
be author~ed to hire a man to clean streets until next meeting.
The matter of Sattelite field near City of Sebastian was
discussedand it was unanimously agreed that the City is interes~
in securing the airport for City of Sebastian. The City C~rk
was instructed to waite Civil Aeronautic Authority in Jacksonville
Fla.
There being no further business, the meeting was duly
adjourned at 9:55 pm.

B~ll of Smethurst and Parker, Miami, Fla., was re-read and
discussed. It was moved by Councilman Sembler and seconded by
Councilman Smitht~kt the Auditos' bill of $2,062.20 be paid.from
the general i~nd~ Councilman Se~bler, smit~ and Bohannon voted
that the bill be paid. Councilman Turlington did not vote.
'Discussion was opened by N~yor Shafor concerning pa~i~g of
louisiana Avenue. He and Sembler had met with Oounty Commissiners
Notion made by Councilman Turlington and seconded by Councilman
Smith to purchase rock for Louisiana Avenue.
A discussion concerning street cleaning was held. A motion
made by Councilman Smith and seconded by Councilman Sembler
authorized Councilman Bohannon to take care of cleaning the streets.
This was unanimously carried.
Meeting of August 6th, 1946 - continued
An invitation was extended to visitors to discuss any ideas they
had. Mr. Getrost presented ~he matter of the proposed yc~'th center
activity. He requested specifically the use of space in thecity
park. This was promised by the Council after organization and plans
are completed.
An ordinance combining the offices of Chief of Police, City Clerk
Tax Assessir etc. was read by Attorney Mitchell - unanimously approved.
Letter concerning Airport read by Councilman J~ohannon. Attorney
Mitchell opened discussion on this agd agreed to write to t~ae CAA
concerning the pfoject.
On motion of' Councilam Sembler s'econded 'by Councilman Smith it was
agreed to open bids again for sale of Sebastian City Airport property.
Names of holders of City's bonds were presented. Mr. Mitchell
will write a letter outlining City's present financial position. This
will be addressed to bondholders by City Clerk.

~/eeting called to order by Mayor Shafor at 7:50 PM. Present:
Mayor Shafor$ Councilmen Middleton, Sembler, Smith. Absent: Councilmen

Minutes of August 6th meeting were read and approved.
On motion of Councilman Sembler, seconded by Councilman Smith

Committee reports Louisiana Avenue paving work is to be started
at o~ce.
Notion made by Councilman Sembler, seconded by Councilman Smith,
that Four lots are to be sold to Lillian W.Meredith for $500. down
and balance of $500. to be paid within 30 days. The Lots are 1, 2,
3 and 4 in Block 4 Martin SubDivision. Motion Carried.
Phtllip Sture made an offer of $2,000. forLotz 1, 2, 5 and 4 -
Central Avenue and Washington Place. The Council will take this
under advisement. Mr. Sture to be notified at next meeting.
lotion made by Councilman 3embler, seconded by Smith, that
Police Chief's salary be raised to $200. per month, starting September
1, 1946. Motion carried.
Motion made by Councilman Smith, seconded by Councilman ~embler
that william T. Nelson be permitted to cut curbin on Central Avenue
at his property to make a driveway. Motion carried.
