The meeting was called to 'order by President Sembler.

~inutes of the last Regular mooting of July 8,1957 and Special called meetings of
July 24 & 29,1957 were approved as read.
Bills amounting to $1,226.51 was approved by the Finance Committee and authorized
to be paid on motion by Councilman Ellingsen,secon,.d, ed by Counci,l. man B,e.,ns.c?op.Carried.
The Clerk read an Ordinance entitled:AN
CI~ OF SEBASTIAN TO ANNEX A TRACT OF LAND A}~D EXPRESSiNG THE ~ESIRE OF SAI~ CITY TO
CHANGE iTS TERRITORIAL LIMITS BY THE ~GG~EXATION OF AN ENINCORPORATED TRACT OF LAND
LYING CONTIGUOUS THERETO AND WITHIN INDIAN RIVER COUNTY~FLORIDA.
Upon motion by kLrs.Chesser,seconded by Councilman Brehmer and unanimously carried,
said Ordinance was read the first time in full.
Upon motion by Cou.~'cilman Elllngsen,seconded by Councilman Brehmer and unanimously
carried,said Ordinance was read the second time by Title only.
Upon motion by Council ~man Brehmer,secended by COuncilman Ellingsen and unanimously
carried,said Ordinance was read the third time by Title only and placed upon its final
pa ss age .
The roll was called upon the final passage of said Ordinance and the results were as
follows:
Ayes: Councilmen Sembler,Ellingsen,Chesser,Benschop and Brehmer.
Nays: None
':_'hereupon said Ordinance hawing received an affirmative vote of three fifths of all
members of the Council v,~as declared duly adopted and upon being presented to the Mayor &
having received his approval was numbered as Chapter 150 of the Ordinances of said City
in accordance with the provisions of Section 85 of Chapter 16683 of the laws of Florida,
being the Charter of said City.
Itarry Bohannon reGuested the Council have two &ustralian pines removed from his prop-
erty due to the damage that HLight be done to the sidewalk.
The Council postponed action on this matter to a later date.
Counciln~n Ellingsen made a ~otion the City abandon that portion of State right of
ray of 01d Dixie ly~ing ~st of R/W ~of F.E.C.Ry. and VJest of ~outh Central :~venue,located
in Block three of Edgewater Park S/~.Seconded by Councilman Brehmer.Carried.
~yor Taylor read correspondence requesting Representatives from the City of Sebastian
to be present at a meeting on Planning and Zoning to be held in the City of Eau Gallic,
Florida,,~ugust 21st and 22nd of 1957.
Mayor Taylor read th~ monthly Police report which showed a net profit of $2,269.13.
The Council requested ~ayor Taylor to obtain figurms on the cost of a ~958 ~mord
Intercept~r and als~ th~ trade in value of the City's present .Ford Intercepter.
Councilman Ellingsen n~de a motion to adjourn,seconded by Councilman Benschop.Carried.

This meeti~ was called for the following purl~oses:Retire~nt of Bonds,purchase of
a new Police ~r ~d the establish~nt of a Bulkhead line within the City Limits.

President Sembler instructed Clerk to make the purchase of the above mentioned bonds.
Council~n Ellingsen ~de a motion to advertise the construction of a Bulkhead line
to be established 300 ~. from the center of the present U.S.H~.#l ri~t of way from
North City Li~ts to ~rrison Street.The said bulkhead to be constructed with interlock-
ing cementbpilings ~d to be six feet above average water level,seconded by ~s,Chesser.

the City's 1957 Ford Police Intercepter on a 195~ Ford Police Intercez;,ter.This vehicle to
be equipped as follows:Custom tudor with Police Intercepter V8 engine,Ford~tic trans
mission,positive action wipers,leese-neville alternator,heavy duty brakes,dual exhaust,
heavy duty ~ar ~ front ~rings ~d shock absorbers ~d heavy duty radiator.This ~n
