Che s set ~. ~linutes of the last Regular mooting of July 8,1957 and Special called meetings of July 24 & 29,1957 were approved as read. Bills amounting to $1,226.51 was approved by the Finance Committee and authorized to be paid on motion by Councilman Elling,en,seco~ed by Councilman B.~ns~hop.Car~i~d. The Clerk read an Ordinance entitled:AN 0RDIi~C~ ~L~J~II~'G THE Ii~'~I~ION OF '~ CI~ OF SEBASTIAN TO ANNEX A TRACT OF LAND A~D EXPRESSING THE DESIRE OF SAID CITY TO CHANGE ITS TERRITORIAL LIMITS BY THE ~NNEXATION OF AN ENiNCORPORATED TRACT OF LAND LYING CONTIGUOUS THERETO AND WITHIN INDIAN RIVER COUNTY~FLORiDA. Upon motion by Mrs.Chesser,.seconded by Councilman Brehmer and unanimously carried, said Ordinance was read the first time in full. Upon motion by Cou~cilman Ellingsen,seconded by Councilman Brehmer and unanimously carried,said Ordinance was read the second time by Title only. Upon motion by Councilman Brehmer,seconded by Councilman Ellingsen and unanimously carried,said 0rdtnanoe was read the third time by Title only and placed upon its final pa ssage . The roll was called upon the final passage of said Ordinance and the results were as fol low s: Ayes: Councilmen Sembler,Ellingsen,Chesser,Benschop and Brehmer. Nays: None ~'hereupon said Ordinance having received an affirmative vote of three fifths of all members of the Council was declared duly adopted and upon being presented to the Mayor & having received his approval was numbered as Chapter 150 of the Ordinances of said City in accordance with the provisions of ~%ection 85 of Chapter 16683 of the laws of Florida, being the Charter of said City. Itarvy Bohannon requested, the Council ~ve two ~ustralian pines removed from his prop- erty due to the damage that might be done to the sidewalk. The Council postponed ~ction on this matter to a later date. Council~An Ellin[~sen made a motion the City abandon that portion of State right of ray of 01d Dixie Lying East of R/W .of F.E.C.Ry. and VJest of South Central :~venue located in Block three of ~.dgewater Park S/D.Seconded by Councilraan Bre~amer.Carried. ' ~yor Taylor read correspondence requesting Representatives from the City of Sebastian to be present at a meeting on Planning and Zoning to be held in the City of Eau Gallic, Florida,August 21st and 22nd of 1957. Mayor Taylor read the monthly Police report which showed a net profit of $2,269.13. The Council requested ~ayor Taylor to obtain figures on the cost of a ~958 Ford Intercepter and alse the trade in value of the City's present .Ford Intercepter. Councilman Ellingmen made a motion to adjourn,seconded by Councilman Benschop.Carried. City Clerk Pres .Council Special ~,ie et lng ,~ugust 30,19 57 N~e~ting vJas called to order by President ,~embler. Those present were ~.~yor Taylor,Pres.Sembler and Councilra~n Benschop,Chesser,Brehmer an d Ellingsen. This meeting was called for the following purposes:Retirement of Bonds,purchase of a new Police car and the establishment of a Bulkhead line within the City Limits. ~Lrs~Chesser n~de a ~otion the City retire $7,00~.00 of 2 3/4% bonds at 85 1/2 cents on the dollar plus interest,seconded by Council~an ~llingsen.Carried. President Sembler instructed Clerk to make the purchase of the above mentioned bonds. Councilman Ellingsen made a motion to advertise the co~struction of a Bulkhead line to be established 300 ft. from the center of the present U.S.Hwy.#l ri~t of way from North City Limits to Harrison Street.The said bulkhead to be constructed with interlock- ing cement0pilings and to be six feet above average water level,seconded by Mrs.Chesser. Car ri ed. ~frs.Chesser made a motion to accept ~rnold-0ffut's ~-Metor co. bid of $1100.00 plus the City's 1957 Ford Police Intercepter on a 195~ Ford Police Interoceptor.This vehicle to be equipped as follows:Custom tudor with Police Intercepter V8 engine,Fordamatic trans mission,positive action wipers,leese-neville alternator,heavy duty brakes,dual exhaust, heavy duty rear an~ front springs and shock absorbers and heavy duty radiator.This n was seconded by Councilman Brehmer.Carried.
