PRESENT: VICE MAYOR GRAY, COUNCILMEN EVERETT T. GASS AND J. RANDY JOACHIM, MAYOR PAT FLOOD, JR.
AND CITY ATTORNEY L. B. VOCELLE.
ABSENT: COUNCILMAN CLIFFORD HOOSE.
THE CITY CLERK READ NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING WHICH APPEARED IN THE PRESS-JOURNAL ON AUGUST 23
and 27, 1978. THERE FOLLOWED, IN ITS ENTIRETY, A READING OF AN ORDINANCE ON THE CONTROL OF
ANIMALS, SETTING FINES FOR VIOLATION THEREOF AND SETTING AN EFFECTIVE DATE.
MRS. GAIL GRAHAM, PREIDENT, HUMANE SOCIETY OF VERO BEACH, EXPLAINED HOW THE SOCIETY CONDUCTS
ITS BUSINESS AND SUGGESTED SEVERAL AMENDMENTS TO THE PROPOSED ORDINANCE.
THERE ALSO WERE COMMENTS FROM MEMBERS OF THE AUDIENCE.
THE MAYOR STATED THAT NOW WE HAVE HAD A FIRST READING, WE WiLL CLOSE THE PUBLIC HEARING, AND
PLACE ON THE AGENDA FOR THE REGULAR COUNCIL MEETING ON SEPTEMBER 11 FOR SECOND READING AND
MR. VOCELLE ADVISED THAT HE WILL HAVE THE AMENDMENTS PREPARED.
