THEY HAVE CONSIDERED THE EXTENSION SOMEWHERE BETWEEN EXISTING 510 AND 1-95. ACQUIRING FOR THE MAYOR HARRIS REQUESTED THAT CITY ENGINEER, HECTOR FRANCO, THE COST OF LAND USE MAPS AND REPORT BACK TO COUNCIL AT MEETING. LOOK INTO THE NEXT COUNCILMAN RONDEAU SUGGESTED THAT THE LOAN FOR PURCHASE OF THE LAND NORTH OF RIVERVIEW PARK BE PLACED ON THE NOVEMBER BALLOT. HE WENT ON TO SAY THAT PART OF THE LOAN COULD BE USED FOR A POLICE STATION. WHEN VICE MAYOR ROTH QUESTIONED THE PROCEDURE FOR PUTTING THE LOAN FOR THE PURCHASE ON THE BALLOT, ATTORNEY PALMER STATED THAT IF THE LOAN THAT CAROL CARSWELL PRESENTED IS APPLIED FOR A BOND ISSUE IS NOT NEEDED NOR A REFERENDUM. HE SAID THAT IF THIS WAITS UNTIL THE NOVEMBER BALLOT IT IS POSSIBLE, SINCE THE PROPERTY OWNER WILL ONLY WAIT UNTIL THE END OF DECEMBER, THAT THE PROPERTY WILL BE LOST TO THE CITY. HE RECOMMENDED THAT COUNCIL CHANGE THE CODE OF ORDINANCES TO REPEAL SECTION 2-15 (A) WHICH ESTABLISHES THE MAYOR AS FULL-TIME, SO THAT MAYOR HARRIS COULD WORK TO EARN A LIVING WAGE FOR HIS FAMILY. MAYOR HARRIS STATED THAT HE WILL BE LOOKING FOR OTHER ALTERNATIVES. JIM GALLAGHER, SUGGESTED THAT SOME BENEFITS FOR THE MAYOR BE AMENDED. ATTORNEY PALMER STATED THAT TO RECEIVE HEALTH INSURANCE BENEFITS AN EMPLOYEE MUST BE FULL-TIME. HE SAID THE REPEAL WOULD NOT SPECIFY FULL OR PART TIME BUT WOULD ALLOW THE PERSON TO HAVE OUTSIDE EMPLOYMENT.
