Meeting called to order by Pres. Sweatt, Z~hese present were Mayer Shaffer, uemcilmmn

Bill in t~e amount e~' ~26.10 arthorizer by the finance,committee ordered paid.
en motion by Councilman mllingsen and seconded by councilman ~ash. motion carried.
me,ion was made by councilman Nash and seconded by Councilman Sembler to write
letter te County commissioners objecting to said Oemmissioners exerting there a~herlty ~e
close Bars in Sebastian en Sunday, as it would 0e cencidered an infringement upon the rights

Councilman ~'ayler reperted that J@e Tay~lor would permit sand to be taken from his
sand pit f~r the purpose ef resurfacing:~A~a~na Ave,if said Avenue would be resurfaced~its
intire length
Building permi~ granted t~ Harry Behannon on motion oy Oouncilman Elllngeen and
:ended by Oeuncilm~a Sembler motion carried.
Mayer Shaffer recommended.that beginning.Sept. I. 1953 the salary of the ~hief
A~elice would be fixed at $62.50 per week for a forty hour week,$nd all time ever forty hours~
the rate of ,I.65 per heu~ l~letlen was made by councilman Sembler and seconded by councilman
· a¥ier to accept the ~ayors recem,mendation, motion carried.

minutes ef meeting ef August 10th and special meeting ef August 18th were approved as
Letter from the ~ounty Commissioners requesting the ~Ity te send a represen&tive te
meeting te be held at the ~eunty ~emmissiener,s teem at 10.00 A.M. ef September 25th,1953.
Said meeting ~eld to discuss the hours for ~he sale ef alcoholic beverages in Indian niver
Geunty,including the Municipalities.In other weeds the hours as fixed will apply te the
entire county inside er outside ef any City.
It was moved by councilman Sllingsen that the ~ity Attorney Write a letter te '£allahassee
te find out if the said local bill passed at the last session of the House ef nepresentatives
was Constitutional inallewlng the uounty ~emmissieners te set the hours for the sale sf
~$~~ aleehelic beverages In the Municipalities ef Indian nlver County. Said motion was
seconded by ueuncilman ~'ayler and carried.The city Attorney was so instructed·

en motion by councilman ~'ayler which was seconded.bt ~ouncllman ~llingsen,Mr H.C.~rner was
hired and te start at ,50.00 per week constituting 40 hours er ~1.25 per hour,with the privilege
ef werking en Saturday if the work demands.carried.
Bills amounting te ~428.31 approved by the finance committee were authorized to be paid
en motion by ~euncilman Ellingsen,secended by ~ouncilman Aayler.

25th.as represent&~ive ef the ~ity ef Sebastian·
Motion by ~euncllman ~lllngsen and seconded by uouncilman 'zayler that the clerk return
certificate ef title for Truck owned by ~ Turllngten and Bass until such time when the City
decides what action te take·carried.
Ne action was taken en letter presented by Councilman Taylor dealing with the oiling ef
,euisiana Ave,held ever until Councilman Sembler was present.
