Meeting called~tO~rder by President Channell at 7:00 P.M.
Those present: Mayor Boone, Councilmen Stevenson, Witt, DeCristofaro,
Leonardy and Channell.
Minutes of regular meeting of September 10, 1962 and special meeting of
September 24, 1962 were read and approved.
Motion made by Councilman Witt thmt September bills, in the amount of $1570.21,
as listed in Bills Payable Book, be paid. Seconded by Councilman Leonardy. Carried.
President Channell appointed Councilman Witt as Chairman of Finance Committee and
Councilman Leonardy as Chairman of Streets and Roads.
Letter of designation as chairman of Zoning Commission from Julius Polan was read.
Councilman Leonardy moved to accept Mr. Polan's resignation. Seconded by Councilman
Stevenson. Carried.
Councilman Leonardy moved that Dr. A. L. Eckerle be appointed Chairman of Zoning
Commission. Seconded by Councilman ~itt. Carried.
Mr. Ed Auten spoke on financial aid to Chamber of Commerce. Councilman Witt moved
that the City of Sebastian become a member of the Chamber of Commerce for the balance
of this year, renew membership next year and, in addition, donate $100.00 to C. of C.
Seconded by Councilman Stevenson. Carried.
City Clerk was authorized to take necessary action, including suit in small claims
court to satisfy claim against Dr. Harenda.
Motion made by Councilman DeCristofaro to invite members of the Press to attend the
closed meeting with city council and General Development Corp. representatives, te
be held at 7:30 P.M., October 22, 1962, in the City Hall. Seconded by Councilman
Leonardy. Carried.
Letter from Rev. ~. R. Daniel, Pastor of Sebastian Church of God, was read. Council-
man Stevenson moved tha. t Sebastian Church of God be granted permission to have a
revival in a tent in the City of Sebastian any time after November 12, 1962, provid-
ing all fire and other regulations are enforced. Seconded by Councilman DeCristofaro.
Carried.
Motion made by Councilman Witt that Mrs. Gregory Dillon be appointed a member of the
election board and that remainder of board be reappointed, at same rate of pay.
Seconded by Councilman Leonardyo Carried.
Motion made by Councilman Leonardy that City Clerk be authorized to spend up to
$100.00 to have interior of City Hall painted. Seconded by Councilman Stevenson.
Carried.
Motion made by Councilman Leonardy to adjourn. Seconded by Councilman DeCristofaro.
Carried.
