HomeMy WebLinkAbout10131952?~egular Meeting Sep't 22,195~., Meeting called to order bY President Sweatt. Those present', were ~layor Shaffer,Fresident Sweatt and Councilmen Ellingsen and Nash. Councilmen Sembler and Dahlstrom absent. Niinutes of the last meeting were approved as read. Bills amounting to ~55.99 which were to late for' the flwst meeting were ordered paid on motion by Cpuncilam Ellingsen and seconded by Councilman Nash. Miss Mildred Park was Pres?nt and discussed delinquent taxes on Lots 1-8 Block 1 of Martin S/D which she had bought from the State,on motion by Councilman Ellingsen which was seconded by Councilman Nash that Miss Park pay the City of Sebastian $65.96 back taxes uselng present valuation for assessment which is $4~0,00 l~ndludeing years 19S2 to 1943 inclusive .Motion carried. Paul n. Stevenson offered the City of Sebastian 1 19~ 1 1/2 ton dump truck as a gift with the prlvilage to said truck if he had any heavy material to move from his place,said truck not to be use~S~ut of the City corporate limits. Mr Stevenson's offer was accepted on motion by Councilman Ellingsen which was seconded by Councilman Nash.carried. '~'here being no more business meeting was duly adjourned. Clerk Pres~. Mayor Shaffer being absent from the ~tate,Ohairman Sweatt being Mayor Protem took the Mayor's place at the Council table and the Council appointed councilman Ellingsen as Protem of the Council on motion by councilman Sembler which was seconded by Councilman Nash. Those present were Mayor Protem Sweatt,Councllman Protem Ellingsen and Councllem Sembler and Councilman Nash. Attorney Vocelle present.Mayor Shaffer and Oouncilman Dahlstrom absent. Minutes of the last meeting were approved as read. · x'he uouncil discussed a new contract with the Florida Power and Light Co and the Clerk was instructed to write for same. Bills approved by fin~ance uommittee were ordered paid on motion by uouncilman Sembler and seconded by Councllm~n~aid bills amounted to $535.?8. ~t was moved by Councilman Sembler and seconded by uouncilman Nash that the Fifty payment on Hlp.~ts of ~lock 5 of Edgewater Park S/D paid to the City by Paul n.Stevenson returned until such time that the ownership of said land could be proven.Carried. Councilman Sembler intro~duced and Ordinance entitled," AN OR$~N~N~ TO PRESCRIBE THE MA~ IN WHICH THE NA~S OF CANDIDATES ~R A~ ELECTIVE OFFICE IN THE CITY OF SEBASTIAN,FLORIDA,SHALl APPEAR ON THE OFFICIAL BALLOT TO BE VOTED AT ANY REGULAR OR SPECIAL ELECTION TO BE HELD IN SAI~ CITY AND FOR OTHER PURPOSES" and moved its adoption. Upon moti~on by councilman Sembler and seconded by ~ouncilman Nash and unanimously carrl~ said OrdinanCe was read the first time in,full.
