PUBLIC HEARING CALLED TO ORDER BY MAYOR PAT FLOOD, JR., AT 7:00 P.M.
PRESENT: VICE MAYOR EVERETT T. GASS, COUNCILMAN FRANK OBERBECK, COUNCILMAN RICHARD VOTAPKA,
COUNCILWOMAN FLORENCE PHELAN, CITY ATTORNEY DANIEL KILBRIDE, AND MAYOR PAT FLOOD, JR.
ATTORNEY KILBRIDE READ THE NOTICE TO BID FOR THE INSTALLATION OF A SIX FOOT HIGH CHAIN LINK
FENCE AT THE SEBASTIAN MUNICIPAL AIRPORT, AS IT APPEARED IN THE VERO BEACH PRESS JOURNAL,
OCTOBER 18 AND 20, 1981.
SINCE THERE WAS AN ERROR IN THE ADVERTISED DATED FOR THE BID OPENING, IT WAS DECIDED THAT
THE FENCE BIDS WOULD BE OPENED, WEDNESDAY, NOVEMBER 4, 1981, PRIOR TO THE PUBLIC HEARING
REGARDING THE 1981-1982 BUDGET FOR THE CITY OF SEBASTIAN.
THE CITY CLERK READ THE NOTICE TO BID FOR THE INSTALLATION OF A SIX FOOT HIGH FENCE AT THE
SEBASTIAN MUNICIPAL AIRPORT AS IT APPEARED IN THE VERO BEACH PRESS JOURNAL. OCTOBER 18 AND
20, 1981.
MR. CONN DIAMOND, SPOKESMAN, FOR THE GOLF COURSE COMMITTEE, REPORTED THAT THE COMMITTEE
RECOMMENDED THAT THE ENTIRE BID FOR THE SIX FOOT CHAIN LINK FENCE TO BE INSTALLED AT THE
AIRPORT BE CANCELLED. HE INDICATED THAT THE GOLF COURSE COMMITTEE REVIEWED THE FENCING
SITUATION FURTHER AND SUGGESTED THAT A SPLIT RAIL FENCE BE USED. THEY SUGGESTED THAT THIS
BE LOOKED INTO BEING A LARGER AREA CAN BE FENCED AT APPROXIMATELY HALF THE COST COMPARED TO
THE CHAIN LiNK WITH IT SERVING THE SAME PURPOSE.

FENCE IS GOING TO BE USED AT.
MAYOR FLOOD STATED THAT THE BIDS WI~L~*3~ OP~NED WEDNESDAY, NOVEMBER 4, 1981, PRIOR TO THE
